First Look: Renner and Arterton Are 'Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters'

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters

Keep an eye out next Thursday for the first trailer for Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, but in the meantime, our first look at the Paramount Pictures film starring Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker, The Avengers) and Gemma Arterton (Clash of the Titans, Prince of Persia) as the titular siblings and they look pretty bad-ass. Directed by Tommy Wirkola, the film sees Hansel and Gretel grown up as full-time killers whose targets are witches like the one who terrorized them at a young age. And with producers like Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, this should be quite a story to behold early next year. See the photo below!

Here's Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton as Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters from EW:

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters - First Look

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters is directed by Tommy Wirkola (Dead Snow) who also wrote the script with freshman screenwriter Dante Harper. Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton play the sibling duo who have grown up to become notorious killers of witches like the one who terrorized them as children. Famke Janssen, Peter Stormare and Zoe Bell also star in the film being produced by Adam McKay and Will Ferrell through their Gary Zanchez banner. Paramount will release the film into theaters on March 2nd, 2012.

Gemma Arterton is so gorgeous and sexy. She's a very talented actress. It'll be an incredible performance, just wonderful.

Dead Snow was incredibly enjoyable. I hope this is as well. But with McKay and Ferrell producing, is this supposed to mix comedy in? I hope not, I would rather this be a serious badassfest!

I think there's supposed to be some dark comedy, but nothing like what we're used to seeing from Ferrell and McKay. They just liked the script so much and they wanted to make sure it actually got made.

Alright, I can dig that. God knows I love dark comedy.

What do you expect from a culture who enjoy watching fantasy-horror, ghost hunters and zombie flicks?

Robert Wilson on Dec 4, 2011

No offense but it looks like something that's going to be canceled either before the season 1 finale or the season 1 finale will become the series finale.

Robert Wilson on Dec 4, 2011

It's not a tv show, you do know that right?
