Last month we learned that Focus Features had snagged Wes Anderson's next film Moonrise Kingdom for distribution. The press release which revealed the news confirmed Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman and regular Anderson collaborator Bill Murray would all be a part of the cast, but now another actor has been spotted on the set of the film in Rhode Island. The Film Stage has observed from several different sources, that Harvey Keitel has some sort of role in Anderson's new film, though it's not clear what character he'll be playing or how he's involved with the story.
In the film, new comers Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward play two young adults who fall in love and run away in the 60's. Assuming that the lovers have disappeared, the leaders of their New England town go searching for them. Norton is playing a scout leader who brings his expertise to the search while Willis will play a character having an affair with McDormand's character, the missing girl's mother. Murray, on the other hand, will play the girl's father who, of course, has his own issues. There's been a whole slew of boy scout extras on set, and you can see one great photo of Norton in his scout leader outfit right here. Personally, I'm already foaming at the mouth for Anderson's next film, and Keitel's addition to cast just sweetens the deal. Sound good?

I actually really like Wes Anderson's work. Also Harvey Keitel is one of the most underrated actors.
