'In Bruges' Director and Colin Farrell Round Up 'Seven Psychopaths'

The two collaborated on the dark action comedy In Bruges along with Brendon Gleeson, but now writer/director Martin McDonagh and actor Colin Farrell are teaming up again for another black comedy. Variety reports the two will team-up for Seven Psychopaths, and if an In Bruges reunion isn't a sweet enough deal for you, maybe the other cast members will change your mind. Joining Farrell in the film will be Christopher Walken, Sam Rockwell and Mickey Rourke. The project is currently being shopped around at Cannes (see Alex's coverage here) like almost all other films with news this week.
The story follows a screenwriter (Farrell) struggling for inspiration for his script, "Seven Psychopaths," who gets drawn into the dog kidnapping schemes of his oddball friends (Rockwell and Walken). Things take a turn for the worse when a gangster's (Rourke) mutt goes missing. Sounds like it's definitely in the same vein as In Bruges with the mix of crime and twisted comedy. The project is also comes from the producers of In Bruges, so for fans of the 2008 film, this should pretty much be a bingo. Sound good?

When I saw Colin Farrel, I became vaguely interested. When I saw Martin McDonagh , I became very interested . When I saw Christopher Walken, Sam Rockwell and Mickey Rourke, my heart did a backflip. I need this film, now.

damn straight! just Rockwell with McDonagh would have done it for me, but this... what a collection of talents. In Bruges completely raised my opinion of Farrell (and confirmed the high one i have of Gleeson).

Exactly! Another movie from McDonagh would be news awesome enough. But him with Christopher fricking Walken...!! And Sam Rockwell..!! Well and Mickey Rourke is also great and Farrel works great with McDonagh too... WOW.

I'm all over this! Great cast. I never could stand Colin Farrel until I saw In Bruges. I love that flick!

i don't think the bloggers would be excited about this project if they had read the screenplay. Probably the most convoluted script i have ever read. Farrell in In Bruges was so overrated

The script wasn't convoluted at all. It was incredibly clear and easy to follow, one of the quickest reads in a while. To each his own, but I think you're in the majority saying In Bruges was overrated, and that Colin Farrel didn't do well in it.

So happy this getting made, script was awesome. Don't like Rourke being casted though, didn't fit my vision, but we'll see how it plays how.
