Outrage Trailer

One wrong movie and its all out war. Today's indie/foreign trailer is for a kick ass Japanese film called Outrage, directed by and starring Takeshi "Beat" Kitano, that actually premiered a few years ago in Cannes. Magnet recently released the official US trailer for the film, with subtitles, which is worth checking out. In a ruthless battle for power, several yakuza clans vie for the favor of their head family in the Japanese underworld. I saw this at Cannes originally and thought it was quite awesome. We originally featured the Japanese trailer back in 2010, but this is the latest one, and it reminds me how great of a film this is. Enjoy!

Watch the official US release trailer for Takeshi Kitano's Outrage, in high def from Apple:

Outrage, or アウトレイジ in Japanese, is both written and directed by veteran Japanese filmmaker Takeshi Kitano, who directed his first feature in 1989, called Violent Cop, and has gone on to direct numerous other films including Boiling Point, A Scene at the Sea, Fireworks, Zat?ichi, and Achilles and the Tortoise most recently. He also stars in his films and appears in this as "Beat Takeshi." This originally premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2010 and was picked up by Magnet Pictures for US distribution. Outrage arrives in limited theaters starting December 2nd this winter, but will also be available on VOD/iTunes starting on October 28th before then. Visit the official website or the film's US Facebook page for more. Look good?

Watching this trailer just makes me think of Beat's earlier film "Brother". Not really a bad thing but it just makes me feel like I've seen this movie before and know how it's going to play out. That being said, I'll still watch this.
