"You wouldn't dare!" Continuing with more Cannes Film Festival related coverage, as that is where Alex is headed this very weekend, we're featuring a new 30-second teaser trailer (found via The Playlist) for Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar's latest film, The Skin That I Live In (or The Skin That I Inhabit or La Piel que Habito). We've been teasing this already with odd posters, but now we have some footage, and this is definitely looking great. Love the score, love the intensity, this is a weird but chilling teaser that's only going to help build more buzz in these last weeks before Cannes. Definitely give this eerie teaser a look.

I'm intrigued to see more, that's for sure. Based on Thierry Jonquet's Mygale, this revenge tale tells the story of a plastic surgeon, played by Antonio Banderas (reuniting after 20 years with Pedro Almodóvar after working on Tie Me Up! Time Me Down! in 1990), seeking revenge on the men who raped his daughter. But apparently it's much more than that - while seeking justice, he keeps his wife imprisoned and subjects her to humiliating sex acts with strangers. This is Spanish filmmaker Almodóvar's latest film following Broken Embraces, and it will be premiering at the Cannes Film Festival in France this month. Thoughts?

if he's seeking revenge against the people who raped his daughter.. then why is he keeping his wife imprisoned and making her have humiliating sex with a bunch of strangers?.... i'm so confused.

As am I, as am I. At first glance it sounds like a revenge thriller with us the viewer rooting for the Dad...but once we read the synopsis we are left O.O what? He's basically made his wife into a sex slave? um...why?

@Xerxexx:disqus @cd11809271053bb5d2557498568cf122:disqus Believe me, it all makes sense in the end 😉 If you really wanna know, read the novel, but it might spoil the movie experience for you. Just let me say that the solution is brilliant!

Could it be that his wife was somehow responsible for the tragedy?
