'Jackass' Star Ryan Dunn Tragically Killed in Car Accident at Age 34

After partaking in plenty of hilarious yet foolish stunts on MTV's television series turned film franchise known the world round, Jackass star Ryan Dunn has sadly passed away. However, it wasn't the crazy antics of the stunt crew that resulted in his passing, but as TMZ has confirmed with Bam Marger'a mother, a car crash late last night is the cause of death. A car with Dunn and an unidentified passenger slammed into a tree and burst into flames (see the photo of the accident site right here) at Route 322 and New Street in West Goshen Township, Pennsylvania. At this time it's not clear who was driving the automobile.
What makes this situation all the more tragic, and perhaps even senseless, is Dunn had apparently posted a photo of himself drinking with friends just hours before his death. This is surely a sad loss for the tight knit Jackass crew who seemed like some of the best friends to ever grace the big screen. Dunn himself got caught up in some pretty crazy stunts with Johnny Knoxville and the rest of crew. In the first film, Dunn famously shoved a toy car up his ass and went to the doctor to get some X-rays with hilarious results. Our thoughts go out to Dunn's friends and family as well as the unidentified passenger. Rest in peace.

This is really heart breaking, he was a terrific performer. I enjoyed all the Jackass movies and i am true fan of JACKASS. He was a daredevil no one ever can replace him in future in Jackass. I pray for Mr. Dunn rest in peace you were really awesome.

The most tragic thing about this is that he didn't die doing what he loved. RIP Random Hero.

Why is everybody shocked? He took risks every day of his life. It should come as no shock he was killed in an accident, even if the accident wasn't a stunt. Why is everybody calling this tragic? Maybe if he wasn't a daredevil it would be tragic? Maybe, just maybe, if alcohol wasn't involved it wouldn't be tragic. But from the looks of it, alcohol played a significant role. Don't get me wrong, I am a HUGE fan, but let's be realistic. It was neither shocking or tragic. You live by the gun, you die by the gun. Ironic perhaps.

death isnt tragic to you? nice bro way to post a cutting-edge-controversial comment on the internet. hope you have a good day today cause ryan dunn's family and friends are having a really shitty one

So living by the gun = driving a car? I guess car crashes are never tragic by that logic.

It doesnt matter what the circumstances were or what played a "significant role" in his death, death is a tragedy no matter what, get over yourself.

I hear you, man. I was initially shocked and actually said "Holy SHIT" when I saw this article. But, like you said, they've been doing this for a decade. It was bound to happen at some point. After you realize that the death was alcohol related and could have (possibly) been avoided, it puts everything on a different level. Unfortunate, yes. Tragic, not so much. And I love Jackass.

You are a dick Matt, listen to yourself man. It must have sounded really cool in your head when you were rehearsing what to type. It's sad, and tragic as a young good man has lost his life. He wasn't living by the gun ya tosser

No one deserves to die like that, daredevil or not. You're such a hypocrite! It doesn't mean that if alcohol is involved then he was drunk driving. Get your brain out of your ass for once.

It is sad, He died...sure he was drinking but the fact is he died as did the passenger is still rather tragic. Some here seem to not care and that's cool but some do and that's cool as well. Of course I have more sympathy for the passenger. Dunn will be remembered...but the memory will be tainted by a dumb mistake he made and the person he got killed. Anyways RIP.

this is what drinking and driving dose and it is sad that he died but he took someone else with him because he chose to get behind the wheel and drive. my heart goes out to the family of both who were killed in this tragedy.

Thats why I dont understand alot of these comments. This guy was paid to do very foolish things...He also does foolish things outside of work. Why is everybody so surprised by what happened???? Tragic would have been him getting hit by a bus on his way to see his mom. Foolish is speeding in a Porsche with a friend after getting drunk. rip

Aww, he was my favorite jackass; such a sweet, crazy teddybear. Can't say this is a total surprise as the whole crew is nuts anyways, and none of them are opposed to alcohol and drugs, but it's still very sad. I can't even imagine how Bam must feel, they were basically brothers. =(

I want to point out that the article said it has not been made clear who was driving. It is sad that so many people just assume that Dunn was the one driving. May Ryan Dunn and the other passenger rest in peace, and may there family's and friends find happiness in their memories.

All assholing around on screen aside, because that was and is pretty funny, drink driving is a ballbags game, it usually ends up getting other people killed, but in his case it got him and someone else killed. I know drink driving is more accepted in the States socially because of the insane distance between places, but still it's a dumb move. Though some people are better than others at it, I often would sit in bars with my dad and get in a car and be driven home and he never had an accident, he did get banned from driving for life though, so lucky him i suppose.

This is tragic. What makes it more tragic is the reporting that he drank before taking to the road. If it's true, then that decision is inexcusable on his behalf not only because it cost him his own life, but the life of another person. I think that decision makes this story even sadder, and I feel tremendous sorrow for his parents who have to live on knowing their son made a poor choice that cost him and a passenger their life. The loss of his comedic presence in future films will be felt by fans, and his sad end will be a stark reminder of why alcohol and driving don't mix. RIP Ryan Dunn.
