His family on the fantastic Fox comedy series "Arrested Development" was a special kind of crazy, but now Jason Bateman will be dealing with a different kind of unstable family. Deadline reports the actor who will be seen this summer in both Horrible Bosses and The Change-Up will next star alongside Vince Vaughn in Universal's comedy The Insane Laws. We heard in March that The Break-Up writer Jeremy Garelick would make his directorial debut with the story about two best friends and how their friendship is tested when their grown children fall in love, with Vaughn's daughter becoming pregnant by Bateman's son.
Apparently both of the actors recently sat down for a read-through of the script, so the project could very well be in production by this fall. The script got picked up by Columbia in 2009, but has since found its way to Universal. Honestly, this has the potential to be a cheesy over-the-top family comedy akin to Four Christmases (which I hated), but with Garelick at the helm, I'm more inclined to be interested in the project. He delivered a grounded, genuine, and funny script for The Break-Up which also starred Vaughn, so maybe he can do the same with this film. What do you think?

Please no. I love Batman. I hate Vaughn.
