Rango Super Bowl TV Spot

"You're funny lookin'…" Paramount just debuted their second Super Bowl TV Spot in high def on Apple, this time for Gore Verbinski's new animated adventure Rango, starring (the voices of) Johnny Depp, Isla Fisher, Bill Nighy, Abigail Breslin, Ned Beatty, Ray Winstone, Harry Dean Stanton and Timothy Olyphant. We've already seen multiple trailers and behind-the-scenes featurettes for this, so you should already know what to expect, but fire it up anyway, as it's so much fun! I am not a fan of seeing these spots before the Big Game, but I still think this is going to play incredibly well, as it looks so awesome and I can't wait to see it!

Rango is being directed by filmmaker Gore Verbinski, of The Mexican, The Ring, The Weather Man, and all three Pirates of the Caribbean movies. The script was written by John Logan (Gladiator, The Last Samurai, The Aviator, Sweeney Todd) based on a story by Verbinski and James Ward Byrkit. ILM is animating using "cutting edge techniques" that "allow [them] to capture and translate every aspect of Johnny's performance, using it to drive the computer-generated character in a way that has yet to be seen." Paramount is bringing Rango to theaters on March 4th in just a few months. Visit the official website here: RangoMovie.com.

I like this spot, and I like the vibe from the film and from the marketing for this flick. They didn't seem to take it too seriously and seem to be having a lot of fun with it, which is a good thing in my opinion. "Explosions!" "More Explosions!" "Other Stuff!"
