He's turned in a couple of decent supporting performances in Jennifer's Body and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and now Johnny Simmons has just lined up a trio of roles to keep his star rising. Variety reports the actor has just joined two pretty big projects with the adaptation of the 80's TV show 21 Jump Street and the adaptation of Stephen Chbosky's book The Perks of Being a Wallflower. The former will see him working with the likes of Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum while the latter has him co-starring with Logan Lerman and Emma Watson. Both will certainly boost his career, and yet there's another project he's lined up too.
Simmons is also keeping his foot on the indie side of filmmaking as the young actor has also joined the cast of The Hand Job. His name was mentioned with a slew of comedians and other great talents when we reported on this film back in March, but his involvement has now been confirmed. He joins the likes of Bill Hader, Donald Glover, Andy Samberg and more. We're not sure what roles Simmons is taking in any of these films, but he'll be shooting them one right after the other throughout this year, so he'll be quite busy for the rest of 2011. Happy to see Johnny Simmons getting more work?
