Jon Hamm & Melissa McCarthy to Lead New Comedy from Paul Feig?

They both stole scenes at every turn in the surprisingly successful comedy Bridesmaids, and now Jon Hamm and Melissa McCarthy may reteam with director Paul Feig and producer Judd Apatow to star in a comedy of their own. The two won't be reprising their roles from the wedding comedy, but the currently untitled film would be about an unconventional romance about a man (Hamm) who becomes obsessed with a woman (McCarthy). However, Deadline notes that this project is still very early in development, and the actors aren't even negotiating to star in the comedy just yet. But it sounds like a great idea.
Back in March, director Paul Feig had said that he was developing another comedy for Jon Hamm to lead, and this could very well be that project. Hamm was absolutely hilarious as Kristen Wiig's prickish fuck-buddy in Bridesmaids, and anyone who saw the film knows that almost everything that came out of McCarthy's mouth was an absolutely laugh riot. Having these two team-up for an unlikely romance sounds like just what the doctor ordered. And you can bet that the surprisingly large audience that turned out for Bridesmaids will journey back to the theaters to see sparks fly between these two unlikely lovers. Hopefully this ends up getting off the ground sooner than later.

They were both easily the best parts of Bridesmaids - a film I didn't really enjoy - so I'd be down with a movie starring these two.

Hamm's a chubby chaser in this movie? I love BBWs too.
