The two will be seen together in Adam Shankman's adaptation of the Broadway musical Rock of Ages, but now British comedian Russell Brand (Arthur) and singer/dancer turned actress Julianne Hough (Footloose) are set to star in the next project from Juno writer Diablo Cody. The untitled film will also mark the screenwriter's feature directorial debut as she works from a screenplay she also wrote herself. Mandate Pictures made the announcement today, and this marks their third collaboration with Cody after the success of Juno and the forthcoming film Young Adult which she wrote for director Jason Reitman.
The comedy follows a sheltered young woman (Hough) who loses her faith after a plane crash and decides to go to Las Vegas to experience the wild side of life. On her journey, she meets an unlikely companion (Brand) who inadvertently helps her find her true self. With Cody's unique writing style and quirky dialogue this marks some new territory for Hough who has mostly taken part in films with singing and dancing. As for Brand, comedy is certainly his best weapon, and it will be interesting to have him working with such a stylistic writer as Cody, especially as she steps behind the camera for the first time.
Julianne Hough is lovely, gorgeous, sexy and beautiful. She’s a very talented professional ballroom dancer, country music singer and actress. She’s amazing. That woman is incredible. Good for her to keep landing such high profile roles. She deserves it. It’ll be an exceptional performance, just wonderful.

Julianne Hough is better than this. She shouldn't be doing a film with Russell Brand. Now she has to drop that old horse’s ass boyfriend of hers, Ryan Seacrest. It is unfortunate that she is as attractive as she is misguided with her poor taste in men. She should be with someone around her age not a guy who obviously can’t handle women around his age. I hope she finds someone her own age to settle down with.

Don't know who she is, don't care to look her up. I just want to know one thing, how in the heck does he keep getting roles? Is he marketed as funny or something? I have a lot of friends with completely different tastes, yet I don't know personally know anyone who 'gets' his humor. Who is this guys demographic/fan base? (ok, maybe more than just one thing, haha)
