With main characters already cast in the form of Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen and Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth as Peeta and Gale respectively, the supporting cast for the anticipated adaptation of The Hunger Games is beginning to fill out. EW reports the characters of Thresh and Rue from District 11 will be played by fresh faced actors Dayo Okeniyi and Amandla Stenberg. The young Stenberg will be seen in Colmbiana next, and Okeniyi appears in an upcoming horror film called Slew Hampshire. Find out how to keep up on the casting for the rest of the districts in The Hunger Games below!
In the story, Katniss and Peeta are from Distrcit 12, but there 10 other districts yet to be revealed. Since many of these characters are likely very minor parts and will be filled by more unknown faces, we won't highlight all of them unless a bigger name comes along. However, all you die-hard fans of The Hunger Games can keep up with the casting by way of The Hunger Games Tributes Casting Tab which will reveal all the actors playing the rest of the characters involved in the deadly games. The Hunger Games doesn't hit theaters until March 23rd, 2012, but stay tuned for any critical updates on production and more. Like the casting so far?

Not bad, not bad. To be completely honest, I always imagined Willow Smith to play Rue. However, I don't mind unknowns!

My students are devouring there books in class and its great to see diversity in the cast which I hope one day will be more common in films.
