While we're still waiting for him to get the Uncharted: Drake's Fortune adaptation off the ground with David O. Russell, it looks like Mark Wahlberg just keeps finding new projects for his future slate. Variety reports Universal just picked up a spec script from newcomer Matthew J. O'Neill called Bait and Switch. Though details of the plot have not yet been revealed, it's said to be an action comedy and has Wahlberg pairing up with producer Scott Stuber (Role Models, Your Highness) again. The two are next collaborating for Seth MacFarlane's raunchy live-action/CG hybrid comedy Ted, a movie that's also set up at Universal.

As far as I'm concerned, Wahlberg taking on another action comedy is great news. The guy turned in an almost surprisingly hilarious performance in The Other Guys alongside comedy giant Will Ferrell, and that's no easy task. And honestly, with a producer like Stuber on board, a guy who has taken on comedy and action (he's also producing Safe House with Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington, not to mention Battleship) this has the potential to be something good. If only we could get some story details. Stay tuned.

I cannot express how much I do not want him in the Uncharted movie. Then again, I have just as much difficulty expressing how baffled I am at David O. Russell's plans for the Uncharted movie. Wahlberg was great in "The Other Guys" though. He should keep making movies like that.

Yeah, nothing against Wahlberg, but I really really don't want to see him in an Uncharted film. I think the director has great potential to destroy what could actually be a good video game to movie adaptation and I think it would be a shame to see Wahlberg as Drake. Maybe they will greenlight a Mass Effect movie and put Wahlberg in that too, ugh.
