Mia Wasikowska and Vera Farmiga Enjoy 'A View from the Bridge'
After starring in the 1998 Broadway production of Arthur Miller's 1955 play A View from the Bridge, actor Anthony LaPaglia (Legend of the Guardians) will reprise his role in a feature film adaptation of the play from director Robert Connolly (Balibo). Now Variety reports Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air) and Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland) will also star in the adaptation. The actresses join Sam Neill (Daybreakers) and Sebastian Stan (Captain America: The First Avenger) who had already been cast along side LaPaglia who is also producing the film after successfully winning the rights and Miller's approval for the adaptation.
The story follows Eddie Carbone (LaPaglia), who agrees to shelter his wife's cousins who are seeking refuge in New York as illegal immigrants, but trouble begins when his wife's niece (who they have raised since childhood) is attracted to Rodolpho, the younger of the two immigrants. Jealousy and obsession become a big turning point in a story that has a tragic end. Farmiga will play Eddie's wife while Wasikowska is playing their niece Catherine. The film starts shooting this June. Could be an interesting drama, especially with this cast. Interested?

Have been waiting 'forever' for this film to be made. It will be Oscar-worthy with the marvelous Anthony LaPaglia reprising his role.

You may want to edit your synopsis. Catherine falls in love with Rodolpho, the younger of the two immigrants, brother of Marco. I'm assuming Sebastian Stan will be playing Rodolpho. Is Sam Neill playing Alfieri the lawyer? I wonder who'll play Marco.

At least we haven't seen bizzare/crazy casting in this one yet! Could you imagine Stone Cold Steve Austin playing a love interest?
