Michael Fassbender to Play an Android in Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus'

We've got a double-dose of exciting news regarding Ridley Scott's Prometheus today, so let's get right into it. Heat Vision reports that rising star and extremely talented actor Michael Fassbender has landed a role in Ridley's return to sci-fi, the former Alien prequel turned original sci-fi. They don't have any details on his character, but do say that he will play an android. The other news is that Fox has rescheduled the film from its March release to June 8th, 2012, taking a strong early summer spot that Disney's John Carter of Mars originally had before it moved up to March 2012. This seems like it will be an epic return to sci-fi for Ridley.
Fassbender has been on the rise since appearing in Hunger, Fish Tank and Inglourious Basterds. He plays Magneto in X-Men: First Class, stars in Cary Fukunaga's Jane Eyre, Steven Soderbergh's Haywire, David Cronenberg's A Dangerous Method as psychologist Carl Jung, and was considering a role in Rupert Sanders' Snow White and the Huntsman, but now with this role booked he's not joining that project. Fassbender has been in the running for a role in the Alien prequel for a while (we mentioned him late last year) but I'm still happy to see him on-board in its new iteration, which you can read more about here. Awesome news on all accounts. This movie should be amazing. Can't wait for Ridley's return to Sci Fi Tarsem Singh is directing a Snow White movie, Alex, but not Snow White and the Huntsman. Huntsman is being commercial directed by Rupert Saunders.

awesome actor, i started to notice him from the 300 spartans performance, and he didn't dissapoint since. deserves more, he'll get more.
