Must Watch: Amazing Trailer for Zombie Video Game Dead Island

Damn! Since we normally only ever write about movies, if a video game trailer makes it on here, you know it's going to be amazing. There's a new announcement trailer via IGN for developer Techland's zombie video game Dead Island that's quickly making its way around the web. Nordling from AICN says it's "better than any feature film trailer you see this year" and Kotaku calls it "disturbing, chilling, and yes, heartbreaking." SlashFilm finally convinced me to feature it here, as I think it's just a beautifully made trailer that all of you guys need to see, too. It's only 3 minutes and is basically a zombie short, so take a moment and check it out!
In Dead Island you can enjoy a tropical vacation complete with zombies. The game will take a more realistic approach to the zombie survival genre, which "not only means that children might die, you won't have a cache of guns to try and defend them." It's first-person melee combat with "weapon" customization, but no guns. It's set on an open world tropical island and features RPG elements for character development, as well as hordes of gruesome zombie. Techland is developing the game for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. We don't know the release date, but you can follow the Facebook page for updates. How awesome was that?

Actually it was. In 2007 was shown a teaser trailer of the game. Yesterday in addition to this trailer was released some screenshots and details. So yes I can talk out of my ass. BTW: It is "you are talking" and not "your talking". Grammar Nazi FTW

Seems like your head is very far within your ass. Because everything you said makes no sense. First am sure your a nazi fuck. Second the 2007 teaser trailer doesn't mean shit nor do the screen shots. Thats like buying a car without actually looking at the mileage and condition you only see a photo of the car and a video and say "ok I am getting this car."

It looks like the chick from Bioshock Infinite had a bad vacation. I want to see some gameplay before I make any judgements. It would be cool if it was a free roam type of game with full interiors you can explore and a constant presence of dead-heads. And you could either fight, run, or be stealthy, and make your own weapons, but not outlandish ones like DR2's lightsaber, but something like RE: Outbreak's broomstick spear or paint can flamethrower.

wow thats so cool how that little girl flew up through the window and sealed it up behind her so the guy she was attacking couldnt jump out. and why did he then set her down in front of that zombie? was she the zombies daughter? thats so cool how even zombies have feelings and family members, this looks like it is going to be a great short story.

Great trailer. Wanna see something cool, that you might not have seen? Go check out the trailers that 'are inbetween levels' for the game Diablo II. Most ppl I know only played that game to see these amazing shorts 🙂

Agreed. I also liked the MEMENTO vibe (going backwards). It's a very effective, very well-done trailer; certainly has my interest in the game.
