Margin Call Trailer

"It gets ugly in a hurry." Time to take a look at one of my favorite films of Sundance, the indie thriller Margin Call, written & directed by J.C. Chandor, about a 24 hour period revolving around the financial crisis - as boring as that sounds, it's actually pretty damn good. The film stars just about everyone: Zachary Quinto, Kevin Spacey, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Irons, Penn Badgley, Simon Baker, Demi Moore and Stanley Tucci. Roadside Attractions has debuted the trailer and I highly suggest checking it out, I'm a fan. The dialogue may be a bit cheesy, but it works well in the film and it's a great thriller, I recommend it.

Watch the official trailer for J.C. Chandor's Margin Call, originally via Yahoo:

When analyst Peter Sullivan unlocks information that could prove to be the downfall of the firm, a roller-coaster ride ensues as decisions both financial and moral catapult the lives of all to the brink of disaster.

Margin Call is written and directed by up-and-coming American filmmaker J.C. Chandor, of only the 2004 short Despacito previously. The was shot in Manhattan's Financial District in mid-2010. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. Roadside Attractions will be bringing Margin Call to limited theaters starting on October 21st this fall. It's definitely worth seeing. Visit their official site or Facebook.

With America about to default on their credit, probably not the most timely movie to release.

Right. And who is going to bother watching this? If  can stay home and watch the news if they want to be depressed.

With China buying up all that debt and American owing them kajillions of dollars, maybe people might actually take notice of how much they were screwed over by those clowns. I doubt it though.

Although a great cast and a so-so trailer, that thing they call a 'font' that's used is incredibly uninspiring and quite frankly amateurish...

Three Things.... 1. Where were these people when Oliver Stone was willing to give over his Wall Street title to the jackasses who wrote that God awful movie? 2. Dear Zachary Quinto, you'll always be Silar to me.lol 3. This is what you do with an ensemble cast, you don't waste them on romantic comedies or cheesy action flicks. I'm going to see this when it comes out.

totally with you on the best use of an ensemble cast. downbeat subject aside, from a dramatic standpoint, this looks like tasty fare. scenery will be chewed, that's a certainty.
