Must Watch: Statham, De Niro & Owen in Official 'Killer Elite' Trailer

"The gloves are off!" OmniLab and Open Road Films have just debuted the official trailer for Killer Elite, a badass-looking action flick from Australia starring Jason Statham as a elite killer, Robert De Niro as the guy he's saving, and Clive Owen as the bad guy. That's a hell of a cast and I'm hoping that means this is awesome. This trailer is fun as hell anyway, especially with that orchestral "Rock You Like a Hurricane", I want to see it after watching that! The girl is Yvonne Strahovski and it also includes Dominic Purcell and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje. Give it a shot, it's pure action, but it might be good. Plus, damnit - it's De Niro.

When his mentor (De Niro) is taken captive, a retired member of Britain's Elite Special Service (Statham) is forced into action. His mission: kill the three assassins just dispatched by their cunning leader (Owen).
Killer Elite was both written and directed by Irish filmmaker Gary McKendry, making his feature debut after the Oscar nominated short Everything in This Country Must. The script was co-written by McKendry and Matt Sherring, adapted from Ranulph Fiennes' 1991 book The Feather Men. Omnilab Media and Open Road Films are bringing Killer Elite to theaters starting September 23rd this fall. Worth seeing in theaters?

Clive Owen vs. Jason Statham = Must See ! Also even Deniro will be kicking some ass in this movie, so that's a bonus. I can't wait.

When I heard Yvonne Strahovski was going to be in this, I was hoping she would be kicking ass in it but all she appears to be is Statham's love interest.

Looks pretty good, it's almost like Statham has own genre of action films. I really can't find anybody that does it the same way he does

No. That was a different film entirely. This film is based on the book called THE FEATHER MEN written in the 80s.

I don't think I have ever seen De Niro having a choreographed fighting scene. That alone will make me watch this.

Hopefully this will be the big screen break for Yvonne Strahvisky. Love her in Chuck and Hollywood needs more Femme Fatales. If this trend continues, though, Statham could end up being the next Steven Stegal or Jean Claude Van Dam. And what's with the mustache on CLive OWen? It just looks wrong. That being said, I still want to see it.

wait a second... Rock You Like A Hurricane is ok to play in an orchestra now? They had me sold til that crap started playing. I hated that song back then, I hate it now... I hate it more with an orchestral backing.

They filmed this in Melbourne, Australia. Supposed to look a lot like NYC for the film. Just how old is Melbourne? I didn't see any Aussie actors I could recognise. Was all the cast imported?
