"You go get our people back!" Universal has debuted the full theatrical trailer on Apple for Jon Favreau's Cowboys & Aliens, based on the Platinum comic books, starring Daniel Craig and a whole host of other awesome actors, including Olivia Wilde, Harrison Ford, Sam Rockwell, Paul Dano and even Clancy Brown. Given we've already seen a badass teaser trailer and plenty of posters, we all know what this is about, so let's just get right into it because this looks awesome. Can the line-up of this summer's movies get any better? Everything really looks great so far, and this in particular looks so damn fun! Bring on the summer season!

Craig plays Jake Lonergan, a stranger with no memory of his past who stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. But the town is soon invaded by aliens and Jake must pull together a posse comprised of former opponents to combat these extraterrestrials. In addition to Daniel Craig, Cowboys & Aliens also stars Olivia Wilde, Sam Rockwell, Noah Ringer, Clancy Brown and the legendary Harrison Ford as Col. Dolarhyde. Jon Favreau is directing this adaptation from a screenplay co-written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci & Damon Lindelof. Universal is bringing Cowboys & Aliens in only 2D to theaters starting on July 29th this summer.

Akirakorn, from what I've noticed some people had no idea who Craig was until Casino Royal...and they only know him as Bond. that was my reasoning in attacking his comment.

lets say if he didnt know who Craig was before james bond, why would you be attacking him? to show you know more about movies than him? now lets say if he did, wouldn't it be easier(and slightly more humorous) to refer to the most obvious reference as opposed to say "hey, its that guy from layer cake in the desert"? this is probably the 1st time i've seen you show any kind of unjustified animosity towards anyone on this site. sounded pretty douchy to me. but thats just me.

how does james bond have anything to do with this trailer...hmm, daniel craig currently plays james bond, and they're cowboys, so its set in the desert....big deal.....right? no. apparently he's been around way before he played bond so he should be recognized and appreciated more for everything he's done in the past...mmm? who cares... in hindsight you probably didn't mean it negatively, internet doesnt convey tone very well....unless you start typing in caps or italics...who knows. but then you attack someone whos defending the o.p., ...and say "they only know him as Bond. that was my reasoning in attacking his comment" ...douchy w.e, you're probably a nice guy, seeing as to how you've contributed to discussion/ideas on this site. just remember none of this really matters in the end......and i'm just really bored enough to bother replying to your replies.

@Lego, I was simply asking how Quynh got the Bond vibe from this trailer. Elaboration is what I wanted...then L3onidas came in and the rest is rock and role history.

I just really hope the action isn't bland. John didn't do that great of a job with action on Iron Man 1 and especially on 2. I'm still wanting to see this though

Am I the only one that is reminded of the video game Prey? I only played the demo, but all of the abduction scenes in the movie give me flashbacks of the game. I know that the comic came out first, and both properties' concepts originate from the 90s... blah blah. This isn't a post about originality. I'm sure as hell gonna see this, and know it'll be a damn good movie; just wondering if I'm the only one seeing this particular connection.

Am I the only one who thinks this looks terrible? With such a solid cast, I'm pretty disappointed. Plus, doesn't that whole Olivia Wilde without clothes scene seem like a huge spoiler? I'm not familiar with the source material but that shot seems like it could be a huge give-away. If you can't figure it out and you're actually excited about the movie I'll save you the potential spoiler.

I almost never post but why all the comparisons to Bond, Bourne, ID4 etc, when no one has mentioned the unerring similarities to Outlander. A stranger in a historical period, fighting an alien menace. Yep, it's all there. The only real difference so far is James Caveizel's character KNEW he was different. Well ... that, and this actually looks like good fun!

I just can't get to much into it. You are taking cowboys with pistols and riding horse's that have one guy with one alien weapon against the aliens that appears to have made the guys weapon and have much more fire power speed and everything better. Cowboys couldn't even mount a defense. Its a little to far fetch to me.
