Nestor Carbonell

Joining Christian Bale as our Caped Crusader, as well as Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Gary Oldman, another cast member from The Dark Knight will return for Christopher Nolan's anticipated sequel The Dark Knight Rises. Variety reports Nestor Carbonell ("Lost") will reprise his role as the Mayor of Gotham City. The character didn't have a huge role in the previous sequel, but shared a couple pivotal scenes with Harvey Dent and Jim Gordon, so it will be interesting to see what he ends up doing this time. Also, to catch up on other minor casting from earlier this week, three others have also joined TDKR's cast.

Earlier this week Variety had word that "Rescue Me" star Daniel Sunjata would be appearing in the film. In addition, Diego Klattenhoff has landed the role of a rookie cop trying to make a difference and Burn Gorman (Layer Cake) will also have some sort of supporting role. Joining a high profile project like this has to be a dream come true, no matter how small the role. Just the prospect of sharing the screen with Christian Bale or Gary Oldman is exciting. Stay tuned for more news as The Dark Knight Rises gears up to start production and heads towards its July 20th, 2012 release date next year!

I'm getting kinda tired of hearing about every single castmember from this film. What's next? A interview with that guy standing in the background in a random scene?

M.K. Nielsen on Apr 15, 2011

We know what you mean, and that's why we waited on reporting about the minor cast members (though some people asked about them elsewhere in the comments) until someone like Nestor Carbonell was revealed to be coming back. We're fans of his work, and others are definitely glad to hear he's back.

Well stop the presses 'M.K.Nielsen' is'nt happy.. sorry 99% of the other site users, no more batman casting news because 'M.K.Nielsen' has beef with it! Any future updates that are objected to by any one single person shall be called at hault and ceased.. expect one update a month.. firstshowing are out of business, poor Alex and friends are back at the paper route, and us movie lovers will all have to find a new favourite movie news site because of 'M.K.Fucking.Nielsen'.. dude go away with your insignifficant whinney, granny comments, this is solid information.

sorry buddy, but he's a good actor that made a very special impression on many that were Lost fans (as Richard). In my oppinion he (Nestor Carbonell) and William Fichtner (FBI agent in Prison Break) should get more roles and publicity. And i'm not resuming only at their TV works. So yeah, keep the news comming about this guy, i'm more than happy, in fact, i'm 1% more happy this morning hearing about he beeing cast 😛

Come on too many people in this flick...no,no and no Nolan, I don't follow you in this. Why put too many stars?

"Diego Klattenhoff has landed the role of a rookie cop trying to make a difference and Burn Gorman (Layer Cake) will also have some sort of supporting role" loll!this is damn funny! With the likes of JGL,Tom Hardy,Bale and plenty of other stars in this movie...do you guys those people will get decent screen time? Nope! It would be even worse than the supporting cast in Inception How long will this movie last? 3h? Then perhaps they will get time for their skills...otherwise, better cast unknowns

Who the F cares?! They replaced Katies Holmes with Maggie Gyllenhal. They can replace this guy with whoever they can get off the streets. There's nothing to see here. Move on.

Nestor Carbonell is not replaceable.

The role is replaceable, not Nestor. Plus Rachel Dawes was a throw away character.

Carbonell brought a uniqueness to the role.

It would appear, Rpin, that some people do care as they have expressed their interest in this item. Why the F would a movie site NOT report casting news on the most anticpated movie out there? Carbonell might not be a household name but he's a known actor and the Mayor was a significant featured role in TDK.
