Snow White and the Huntsman

On the completely opposite spectrum as Tarsem Singh's "sickeningly kiddie" take on Snow White, we have Universal's dark, Lord of the Rings-like epic take on Snow White as well. This one, titled Snow White and the Huntsman and directed by up-and-comer commercials filmmaker Rupert Sanders, stars Kristen Stewart as a "gritty, badass" Snow White in this one. While we saw some character profiles at Comic-Con, Universal has just revealed on Twitter (via ComingSoon) the first full three-character banner for the movie, featuring Stewart as well as Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman and Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen.

Snow White and the Huntsman Character Banner

Word is the first teaser trailer arrives sometime later this week, so stay tuned to see that once it hits!

In the epic action-adventure Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart plays the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Charlize Theron) who is out to destroy her. But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) who was dispatched to kill her. Sam Claflin (On Stranger Tides) joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White's beauty and power. The movie is being directed by Rupert Sanders, an acclaimed commercials director making his feature debut. Arrives in theaters on June 1st next summer.

If the magic mirror say that Snow White is the most beautiful on the land over the queen in this movie, the mirror will be a stupid piece of glass!!!

Or like... totally 12 or something. yeah. um, I mean it's kinda funny but not. yeah. whatever. [nervous twitching]

Agreed.  Kristen Stewart is cute, but she's got nothing on Charlize.

I fail to see how Snow White would get her name in this version. I don't mind the storyline, but she looks more like Robin Hood's daughter. It would've helped if both Stewart and Theron would've dyed their hair (or wore wigs). I would've liked to have seen Stewart blonde and (a little) dolled-up for this one.

I think Snow White in the original fairy tale had jet black hair but I do agree with you, a little dolled-up.

From the grading in the poster it looks a bit like Sucker Punch style wise. Charlie Theron is looking pretty nice there too.

I've seen stuff from this and boy, let me tell you, what they've done with the magic mirror is AWESOME!

They really want to highlight the distinction this as the more grown up version with everyone holding weapons. Still looks good

The whole premise of the film is Steward being more beautiful than Theron ? I know opinions are like assholes but there is a limit.

Damena on Nov 9, 2011

Sorry it is of course Stewart not Steward.

Damena on Nov 9, 2011

The Queen in "once upon a time" is hotter than snow white too!!!

Philip Michael Chubb on Nov 9, 2011

Good point! However, the gap is marginal and not glaring as Stewart and Theron. (Sorry Kristen, but Charlize puts Bond girls to shame... it's not fair, I know)
