Hellraiser: Revelations

"You opened it, summoned us, we came." Dimension Extreme has unveiled the official trailer via B-D.com for their new sequel Hellraiser: Revelations, a low-rent direct-to-DVD horror inspired by Clive Barker's classic. I didn't even know a new Hellraiser flick actually made it into production, but after watching this trailer, I wish I could've kept it that way. This looks like student filmmakers trying to make an homage to Hellraiser, I can't believe this is a real movie made by a studio. Revelations stars Steven Brand as the new Pinhead, with Daniel Buran, Jolene Anderson and Nick Eversman. You've been warned - this looks terrible.

Watch the first trailer for Víctor García's Hellraiser: Revelations, via Bloody-Disgusting:

Two friends in Mexico discover the Lament Configuration and unleash Pinhead, but one decides to survive by swapping himself. Once they go missing, their family goes in search of them, only find Pinhead instead.

Dimension Extreme's Hellraiser: Revelations is directed by Spanish filmmaker Víctor García, of Return to House on Haunted Hill, Arctic Predator and Mirrors 2 previously. The screenplay was written by Gary J. Tunnicliffe, a veteran horror makeup effects and creature effects designer. According to B-D, Dimension is releasing this in theaters limited on September 2nd (I'm not sure who'll even see it), with a VOD premiere that week too, before it goes straight-to-DVD on October 18th just in time for Halloween. I'm skipping this.

These days, completing the Lament configuration opens a gateway to... a screening of new Hellraiser films.

Hahahahaha!  Not sure "terrible-looking" even does this justice.  But I think it's awesome they found a way to make a movie for $16.00.  If they get two people to go see this, they've already made back their money!

Fan mad or fire the director, shoot the FX guy and change the actors.  If this makes it in the movies then there is something wrong with the screeners

All the production values of a porno movie and no Doug Bradley... the hellraiser franchise has been going downhill for some time now but this takes the cake.

According to imdb.com, Clive Barker has no credits at all on this....dunno what to call this yet....so far "turd" seems fitting. Also from imdb.com: "Budget: $300,000 (estimated)". Wow.....

Don't people know when they're making a horrible sack of monkeyshit like this? They have to realize that NO ONE is going to see this. Their demographic must be teenyboppers and bieber kids. Namely people who have no idea of the sick brilliance that is Clive Barker. Its a good thing Doug Bradley had nothing to do with this.

This movie has been shot only because otherwise studio would lose rights for franchise. They make the movie as cheap as possible with smallest release specified in contract. Thats all.

42

It does look a bit lame but i think we are judging it in comparison to the old movies not in its own right - I will wait for the DVD though

Jayali666 on Sep 29, 2011

This movie was quickly made on a small budget by the Weinsteins ONLY so they wouldn't lose the rights to the franchise. It opened in one theater and was shown to the crew. Not for public consumption.

Wow, I feel bad for Dan Buran, I guess dying on True Blood was bad for him.
