OK Go Covers 'The Muppets' Theme, Complete with Fun Music Video

With their forthcoming return to the big screen looking more promising everyday, this year seems like a good one for The Muppets. Aside from the fun batch of parody trailers promoting the film, everyone's favorite puppets are having some fun in the form of a new music video from the band OK Go. Known for their popular videos featuring their songs Here It Goes Again and This Too Shall Pass, this time the rockers team-up with The Muppets to cover their classic theme song and deliver a video which harkens back to OK Go's aforementioned music video endeavors and some good old fashioned Muppet mayhem. This update of the classic song comes from a whole album of Muppets songs updated contemporary rock and alternative musicians. Aptly titled The Green Album (buy it on iTunes), the collection features 12 covers of songs including Rainbow Connection and Bein' Green with the musical talents of Weezer, My Morning Jacket, The Fray and more backing the tracks. If anything, this just gets me more excited for The Muppets which is hitting theaters on November 23rd, just in time for Thanksgiving.

I didn't watch much of the original series till last year, and I learned music was once important to the Muppets. I'm really liking the Andrew Bird version of Being Green.

Animal is the ultimate punk rock drummer. Good call, OK Go -- the muppets are the best non-human musical performers of all time! hahaha
