Ray Stevenson to Play Cobra Villain Firefly in Jon M. Chu's 'G.I. Joe 2'

THR is reporting that actor Ray Stevenson, who has played characters like Dagonet, Murlaugh, Volstagg, Titus Pullo and Frank Castle, has been cast in the upcoming G.I. Joe 2 as the Cobra villain only known as Firefly - a ninja master, a saboteur, and an expert in all NATO and Warsaw Pact explosives and detonators. Channing Tatum is returning and Dwayne Johnson recently joined the cast, as did Adrianne Palicki, D.J. Cotrona and RZA. Step Up 3D director Jon M. Chu will begin shooting the sequel in down Louisiana at the end of this summer.
I love the descriptions for Firefly on Wikipedia, he sounds badass. "Firefly's given name is unknown. Even Cobra Commander doesn't know his real name or what he looks like… His fees are paid into a numbered Swiss bank account, and are always paid in advance. He makes no guarantees, and gives no refunds." Ray Stevenson has been impressing me quite a bit recently, falling completely into characters like Volstagg in Thor, and I hope he does the same with Firefly. Then again, I'm not looking forward to this sequel yet, but the casting continues to show quite a bit of promise. Especially considering it seems like Sienna Miller, Dennis Quaid and Marlon Wayans are not returning this time around. We'll continue to keep you updated!

Titus Polo: I am going to drink all the wine, smoke all the smoke and fuck every whore in the city. Best character ever. We need another GI Joe movie like we need another sequel to Transformers, POTC and remake. Hollywood stop failing those who truly love film.

We need a serious version of this film. Much like fo the cartoons. Where's Beach Head, Road Block, Gung Ho, Lifeline, Main frame etc.
