Release Date Updates: 'Django Unchained' & 'Haywire' Set for 2012
by Alex Billington
June 15, 2011
Briefly: A few release schedule updates to our 2012 calendar. First up (via THR), Relativity Media is taking over distribution of Steven Soderbergh's latest film, the action spy movie Haywire starring Gina Carano. They've also set the film for release on January 20th, 2012 early next year, which means it's more genre than drama. Secondly, The Weinstein Company has apparently set the initial release date (via SlashFilm) for Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained for Christmas Day - December 25th, 2012, which is a very interesting choice. We still don't even know who is playing Django yet! More updates on the full calendar.

I agree. Everyone knows that the world is going to end on December 21st. Why would they plan a movie to come out 4 days later?
