Richard Jenkins

They previously worked together on his Sundance selected directorial debut HappyThankYouMorePlease, and now director Josh Radnor and actor Richard Jenkins (Let Me In, Step Brothers) will reunite for another indie. Variety reports Jenkins has joined the cast of Liberal Arts alongside much buzzed about Sundance starlet Elizabeth Olsen. Radnor is also writing and starring in the indie romance which will see him playing Jesse Fisher, a 35-year-old admissions worker at a Gotham college who visits his liberal arts alma mater in Ohio where a 19-year-old student named Zibby (Olsen) tries to romance him.

Jenkins will play Jesse's favorite college professor who introduces Jesse to Zibby's family at his retirement party. In addition, John Magaro (Assassination of a High School President), Michael Weston (Garden State) and Elizabeth Reaser (Twilight) have also joined the cast. Magaro will play a depressed college student who befriends Jesse, while Weston will play one of his NYC friends and Reaser will play a bookstore employee and potential love interest for Radnor. I've yet to see HappyThankYouMorePlease, so I can't say I'm exactly excited about Radnor's sophomore effort, but Jenkins is great in every role he takes, so that at least has me interested. What do you think?

"...Jenkins is great in every role he takes..." You're SO right about that, Anderton.  I was reluctant to watch Eat, Pray, Love, but I'm glad I did, because if I hadn't I would have missed his performance.  He gave me that rare lump-in-throat feeling I get when I see a really good emotional performance.Did you see The Visitor?
