Earlier this year, it was announced that the Sundance Film Festival would take the hustle and bustle of their annual Park City, Utah invasion all the way overseas to London for a four-day multi-disciplinary arts festival that will include film screenings, live music performances, discussions, panels and more. Taking place at The O2 arena, the festival starts in 2012 running from April 26th to 29th and now the Sundance Institute has just announced that festival founder Robert Redford and Grammy winner T-Bone Burnett will open the first Sundance London Festival with a panel moderated by screenwriter Nick Hornby. Read on!
In the opening night event, filmmaker, actor and Sundance founder Robert Redford and musician, songwriter, and soundtrack and record producer T Bone Burnett, will share their recollections of achieving great musical moments with the many filmmakers, actors and musicians they’ve collaborated with throughout their storied careers. Joined on stage by Hornby (High Fidelity) the two artists of ‘sound and screen’ will utilise film clips from some of the many films they’ve worked on for which music made an indelible contribution. In addition, 14 films from the 2012 Sundance Film Festival (our coverage is right around the corner) will make their United Kingdom premieres at the festival. For passes, ticket packages and individual tickets for both the film and music components of Sundance London head on over to www.sundance-london.com on November 28th. Hope some of our readers can partake in this great festival!
