This summer he'll be fighting super villains in Green Lantern, but in a couple years, Ryan Reynolds will become the fastest snail in the world. Variety reports the A-list start will voice the lead role in Turbo, a new film from DreamWorks Animation. The story follows your average garden variety snail who wants to become the fastest snail in the world. So when a freak accident somehow gives him extraordinary speed, he sets out to make his wildest dreams comes true. It's simple, but I'm just glad it's original. This will actually be the second DreamWorks Animation film to feature Reynolds' voice talents in a lead role. More details below!
The Croods will actually be the first DreamWorks Animation film to hit in 2013 with Reynolds as part of the cast alongside Nicolas Cage. That film will see release on March 1st of that year, and then Turbo will hit theaters on June 7th. Both of these films were recently featured on DreamWorks Animation's upcoming slate through 2014, and we'll likely be hearing and seeing more from them in the near future. Turbo will be directed by David Soren (who directed the Merry Madagascar Christmas special) working from a script he co-wrote with Shrek Forever After scribe Darren Lemke. Interested?

I think it will get cancelled. It sounds like a pre-school Sunday morning special. Dreamworks are better than this.
