Simon Kook in a Trailer for Cheesy Thai Action Movie 'The Microchip'

The Microchip Trailer

"Give me back the chip!!" Don't shoot the messenger, but apparently this Microchip flick stars a guy who is to replace Tony Jaa, the Thai martial arts superstar who can't seem to get away from Ong Bak. The film is called The Microchip and it's a terribly cheesy Thai action movie starring Simon Kook - the dude that's supposed to be just as good as Jaa. Quiet Earth found the trailer and I know it's pretty bad, but at least it's something to watch. The story obviously involves some microchip being stolen or something, but it doesn't matter. Give it a shot if you wish, but don't blame us if you hate this, it is very cheesy. Extended cut here.

Watch an official trailer for Krissanapong Rachata's The Microchip:

An epic battle to avert disaster! Gotta love the roughly translated sales quotes in it. The Microchip is both written and directed by Thai filmmaker Krissanapong Rachatha, of only 2009's Force of Five or Power Kids previously. Film Frame Productions is behind the film, which hits theaters in Thailand starting in a few weeks. There's a Facebook page for the film, but it's all in Thai so we can't read any of it, however there are some photos and posters to check out if you're interested. I'm really not sure what to expect with this and I have no clue if we'll ever see it at any upcoming festivals, but it definitely looks… interesting. Thoughts?

Looks amayonaising! As a completely unfit person I reckon even I could do those stunts. I could match the level of acting displayed onscreen though, genius.

I'll end up buying this 'cause I'm a sucker for really cheesy low budget action films, but even by my standards this looks pretty bad. The guy doesn't look like he's even trying in most of those shots. He looks bored. If you look closely when he yells, it kinda looks like he's yawning and they just dubbed the line over it.

There...is...a...man...with....long...hair....and....he....wants...his.....(wait for it)........chip. Give.....his...chip...back....or.....you...die. It was cheesy but i had a morning laugh. Trailer graphics look like they were made in a powerpoint presentation or something 😀
