Last week we learned that Meryl Streep would get some marriage counseling from Steve Carell as "The Office" actor signed to star in Great Hope Springs. Now the actor is continuing his film scheduling frenzy to follow his last season on NBC's comedy series by taking on yet another project. THR reports Carell will star in and produce an adaptation of Dogs of Babel, the Carolyn Parkhurst novel of the same name. David Heyman (producer of the Harry Potter franchise) is also behind the story of a linguistics professor (Carell) who discovers his wife dead in the backyard. Though the police rule the woman's death an accident, the professor is not convinced.
Deducing that the only witness to his wife's death is the family dog, the man attempts to teach the canine to talk in hopes of learning what really caused his wife's death. The premise sounds a little silly at first, but this way of dealing with the grief of losing a loved one also sounds really tragic and even depressing. Carell has dabbled in films with a mix of comedy and drama before with Dan in Real Life, and these are definitely the kinds of films that will really show his talents. Of course, I'm always up for some straight-up comedy, too. Thoughts?

if this is a straight comedy - no interest. if this is a drama with some funny moments - i'm very interested.
