Streisand & Rogen's Road-Trip Comedy 'My Mother's Curse' Greenlit

If you can remember back to June 2009 (big request, eh?), we posted an article about a project called My Mother's Curse that will be some sort of a road-trip comedy with Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand, which is a very odd pairing of actors, if I can say. After a few years, Paramount has finally given the project a greenlight and Hollywood Reporter says shooting starts in the spring. Anne Fletcher (Step Up, 27 Dresses, The Proposal) will direct the movie from a script by Dan Fogelman (Cars, Fred Claus, Bolt, Tangled, Crazy Stupid Love). Lorne Michaels and John Goldwyn are producing along with Evan Goldberg. More info below.
In My Mother's Curse, the story follows an inventor (Rogen) who invites his mother on a cross-country trip as he tries to sell his new product while also reuniting her with a lost love. I wonder who they'll cast in that role? Unfortunately, we don't exactly know what this invention of his is (anyone know?), but if anything, I hope it hearkens back to classic road comedies like Tommy Boy and Dumb & Dumber. I'm honestly not really that excited for this, I remember saying that I didn't even want to see it originally, but maybe I'll wait to see more from this, because it might be funny. We'll keep you updated… if only you want to know more?
