After working together on the summer blockbuster adaptation of The A-Team, director Joe Carnahan and star Liam Neeson decided they wanted to work together on something a little darker and grounded. The result is The Grey, a story of man versus nature where a group of pipeline workers in find themselves hunted by a pack of rogue wolves after their plane crashes in the middle of the Alaskan wilderness. There's some pretty breathtaking visuals to be seen from the real locations used for the film, not to mention some vicious-looking wolves. It's certainly a far-cry from The A-Team, and you can check out the trailer below!

The Grey is written and directed by Joe Carnahan (The A-Team, Smokin' Aces) and produced by filmmaking brothers Ridley and Tony Scott. Liam Neeson leads a group of Alaskan pipeline workers hunted by wolves in the frigid wilderness after their plane crashes on their way back home. James Badge Dale ("The Pacific"), Dallas Roberts ("Rubicon"), Dermot Mulroney (Flash of Genius), Frank Grillo (My Soul to Take), Nonso Anozie (RocknRolla) and Joe Anderson (The Crazies) all co-star as fellow oil rig roughnecks in this man vs. nature thriller which will hit theaters on January 27th, 2012. Looking good?

Those lines throughout the trailer I'm willing to bet resonate with Neeson in the strongest way possible. Looks pretty good, hopefully it is good.

So we might get an extremely strong emtionally charged performance from Neeson.

This looks pretty entertaining, hopefully Carnahan has got some of his mojo back since the snoozefest that was The A-Team. Mark my words though, this whole project will live and die on how convincing those cg wolves are.

If Neeson's beer knuckles don't work and he gets taken out, I may just have to bad-mouth a few wolves.

haha classic he was pretty much just playing wolverine at the end there. Leeson seems to be enjoying himself with the gritty roles. Bring them on
