The Golden Briefcase - Johnny Depp

On this week's episode of The Golden Briefcase, Tim and Jeremy are joined by Devindra Hardawar of the /Filmcast to go over their latest Picks of the Week, the newest DVD & Blu-Ray releases, talk through the trailers for Jonathan Levine's 50/50 and the horror film Shark Night 3D, and much more! The main topic of the night was a discussion about the X-Men film saga, in honor of X-Men: First Class hitting theaters this weekend. The guys talk over the series as a whole and the various high and low points. They also talk about the future now that Matthew Vaughn's movie has opened a new chapter in the mythology!

The Golden Briefcase is also broadcast LIVE on Tuesday nights starting at 7:30PM (PST). You can listen in via our Ustream page or by visiting our own live page right here on FS. The podcast is just as fun to listen to live while it's being recorded, with plenty of special guests, so I suggest you tune in the next time it records!

While it goes without saying Wolverine Origins makes Last Stand look better than it ever could be I'm glad you guys gave both films a proper run down. Also I like the praise you gave X2 (which I just love) but thanks for that correlation you made between Singer and the Bobby Drake/parents scene as I didn't know that about Singer. Lastly, Devindra, glad you gave props to the first X-Men for really showing studios that  a comic film could be done right. Parting thought here, some films are made tolerable (sometimes even better) with a six pack. But on that soul crushing day in May 2009, not even a mighty pitcher of Shiner Bock could help salvage Wolverine Origins...it had absolutely no effect on the train wreck of a film which I didn't think was possible. Yeah I cried a little that day my friends:P Sooo looking forward to First Class but even more so now! Thanks guys!!

I love it when Tim's like "Ugh!" it's so funny, because he seems genuinely annoyed by whatever is discussed 😀

The only thing not mentioned is the fact that in order for fox to keep the XMen movie rights, they need to keep cranking out movies with XMen in the title.
