GOLDEN BRIEFCASE
TGB Episode 73: Just Robbing Them Banks (Guest: Peter S. Hall)
by Tim Buel
August 10, 2011
On this week's episode of The Golden Briefcase, Tim and Jeremy are joined by Peter S. Hall, a critic from Movies.com, Hollywood.com and Fandango, to discuss their Picks of the Week, the newest in DVD & Blu-Ray releases, chat about new trailers for David Gordon Green's comedy The Sitter and Chris Gorak's sci-fi The Darkest Hour and much more! The main topic of the night was a discussion about bank robbery films in honor of Ruben Fleischer's 30 Minutes or Less in theaters this weekend. The guys go through some of the best of the sub-genre and talk about the elements that make bank robbing a great plot device in film.
The Golden Briefcase is also broadcast LIVE on Tuesday nights starting at 7:30PM (PST). You can listen in via our Ustream page or by visiting our own live page right here on FS. The podcast is just as fun to listen to live while it's being recorded, with plenty of special guests, so I suggest you tune in the next time it records!

Sweet episode guys!! I'm with you all, I was impressed with Inside Man and great call on 'The Lookout' Peter, I forgot about that one...so damn good. Although, for a fun but obscure bank robbery movie, check out 'Happy,Texas' with Steve Zahn, Jeremy Northam and William H. Macey. But above all, I'm glad someone else says that it's ok to like Attack the Block without just LOVING it. It's a lot of fun and a solid first film from Cornish.

I'm listening now and there's only 13 minutes left. Is there enough time for someone to mention Killing Zoe? Someone has to...don't they? Or what about Sexy Beast? That was a bank, wasn't it? OH SHIT! Jeremy just mentioned Quick Change. I love that movie. Still waiting for a special edition Bluray. Anyway... Someone say Killing Zoe! Holy shit! As I was typing it, Jeremy said it. Interactive commenting! The way of the future. Ok, I'm done commenting and listening at the same time. It's exhausting.
