GOLDEN BRIEFCASE
TGB Episode 81: The Franchising of Horrors (Guest: Drew Tinnin)
by Tim Buel
October 20, 2011
On this week's episode of The Golden Briefcase, Tim and Jeremy are joined by guest Drew Tinnin from Dread Central to go over their latest Picks of the Week, the newest in DVD & Blu-Ray releases, talk through new trailers for McG's This Means War and Steven Spielberg/Peter Jackson's The Adventures of Tintin and much more. The main topic of the night was a discussion on horror franchises in honor of Paranormal Activity 3 (trailer), the third film in that franchise since arriving in 2009, hitting theaters this Friday. The group goes over what makes a good franchise and what they like to see in some of their favorites. Listen in!
The Golden Briefcase is also broadcast LIVE on Wednesday nights starting ~7:30PM PST. You can listen in via our Ustream page or by visiting our own live page right here on FS. The podcast is just as fun to listen to live while it's being recorded, with plenty of special guests, so I suggest you tune in the next time it records!

I would totally love to see more of Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon. It's such a great film that starts as a faux-documentary but then goes full on horror film. A sequel to that has been discussed but that's one I would love to see continued and spun out and expanded upon.

bit late with the comment, but cheers, guys, great podcast - as usual. i'm with Drew on ghosts. rather than an obvious on-screen fantasy that pulls you out of the moment, if you can relate the situation on screen to your life in the real world, it can stay with you for a long time.
