The Dark Knight Rises

Briefly: It was just revealed by SuperHeroHype today that the very first teaser trailer and teaser poster for Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises, featuring Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, will be coming with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 next weekend. The teaser is said to run 1:33 long, making us wonder if it will actually contain footage, or just audio like the first teaser for The Dark Knight. We expect the poster to be debuted online somewhere and the viral to kick up soon as well. That's all we've got on it for now, but as always, stay tuned here on as we'll be the first to post about these!

Update: The first official teaser poster for The Dark Knight Rises is now out - you can view it here! It gives us an epic first look at Gotham crumbling down to form the Batman symbol. A teaser trailer is up next!

LOL, I know, right? Even the smallest bits of news about TDKR are exciting. I can't wait for this.

Anonymous on Jul 8, 2011

That's why we created a category specifically for TDKR! 😉

Alex Billington on Jul 8, 2011

Awesome! Great idea, Alex!

Good, glad you like it! I'm as excited as you are and knew we'd be writing a LOT about it. We also made another specific category for The Hobbit as well:

Cruzer on Jul 8, 2011

MovieKing on Jul 8, 2011

hey Alex what was the first dark knight poster

Nick on Jul 8, 2011

Looks like it was this one, the one with the joker face sketched onto the brick wall: Revealed as part of the viral way back when. Looks like I didn't like it much (that was 4 years ago) as our first look at the film. Hope we get more for TDKR. 🙂

Alex Billington on Jul 9, 2011

ah dammit, now i will have to actually go see a harry potter movie for this....

Jericho on Jul 8, 2011

I was just thinking that myself. Then I remembered my niece is going to see HP and I ordered her to film those 1:33 minutes with her damn phone or something terrible will happen!!!

Jericho on Jul 9, 2011

T_lynn4 on Jul 9, 2011

Boon on Jul 9, 2011

hmm. we just received our hard drive of hp7 and the only trailer it had on it was for sherlock holmes 2.

Grichmer on Jul 9, 2011

because you didnt rub the hard drive good enough

Beefy on Jul 9, 2011

For very very sensitive trailers like this, they sometimes send them last minute (like Thursday night, hours before the midnights) on an entirely separate harddrive. I've seen it before (Cloverfield, etc).

Alex Billington on Jul 9, 2011

It's confirmed! The trailer arrived on the regular trail-mix hard drive. The digital version of the trailer is also encrypted and won't be watchable until 6PM on 06/14.

Grichmer on Jul 12, 2011

I'm pretty sure if it's not on the HP7 hard drive it will be on the Trailer hard drive or sent on USB stick. Same thing happened with the 3D Green Lantern trailer for our theater.

Notalent on Jul 10, 2011

So I started my dream job today, made 1200 dollars in 4 hours, finally got the girl of my dreams on a date.....and I come home to find my most anticipated movie ever is releasing its trailer within a non rediculous amount of time....yeah today was the best day of my life.

Cody W. on Jul 9, 2011

Hope this will be at the Con!

esophus on Jul 9, 2011

Sadly, it's very unlikely... Maybe a viral, but I think they're putting all this out so they don't have to be there. We'll find out soon!

Alex Billington on Jul 9, 2011

Let me guess it is going to be them talking no footage and just the batman logo....HOPEFULLY IT WOULD BE THE I AM LEGEND TYPE TRAILER

Beefy on Jul 9, 2011

I felt like my whole apartment should have progressively shaken harder and harder as I read this posting. Harry Potter ticket sales just doubled.

Nick Sears on Jul 9, 2011

...I find that hard to believe ,aren't they still shoot it? don't get me wrong I really want to see that if it's true.

TTumMM on Jul 9, 2011

Yeah, it's still shooting, but often when making a film you're going to shoot the more difficult stuff first. That means stuff that's going to be complex or take a lot of time to shoot, or scenes that will need a lot of effects work. This is so the effects guys can start working their magic on it as soon as possible. A lot of directors also try to shoot the longer locations first, so they can stay in one spot and shoot the primary footage while a second unit can handle some of the smaller shoots. Sometimes you can have the effects guys utterly fake a shot using plates and camera mapping, assuming it's just a simple shot that will only last a few moments on screen.

just read about this cant wait i know ill be there for harry potter 😉

A5J4DX on Jul 8, 2011

Will this be outside of the US as well? I don't really know how this whole trailer system works so here's to hoping the trailer will show in Belgium also 🙂

Neuromancer on Jul 9, 2011

well look at the first dark knight trailer all it was is the batman symbol and some dioaloge i doubt there will be a lot of fottage in this trailer

MovieKing on Jul 9, 2011

what I just experienced can only be described as an orgasm while shrooming after having done 10 lines of coke

Geoffrey Shauger on Jul 9, 2011

so i just screen the trailer *SPOILERS* it shows flashbacks from the previous two movies while a wounded jim gordan in the hospital is talking about how batman must return and how evil is rising in the city. shows a glimpse of bane as well as some art similar to the posters and at the very end it shows the dark knight himself ready to fight as bane approaches him (VERY EPIC BTW). cannot wait to see the movie after watching this, even though it shows very little.
