Transformers: Dark of the Moon

So far all the footage we've seen for this summer's big bad blockbuster sequel Transformers: Dark of the Moon has been spectacular. The teaser trailer was a nice setup for the story, the theatrical trailer was full of plenty of pretty special effects and explosions, and the most recent trailer featured some cool new shots as well. Now Linkin Park has released a promo music video featuring their song Iridescent set over plenty of new footage from Michael Bay's fighting robot extravaganza. Essentially, this is just another trailer with the help of some music from the soundtrack to get everyone more excited. Check out the music video below!

Here's the Linkin Park music video courtesy of their YouTube page:

In this movie, the Autobots and Decepticons become involved in a perilous space race between the U.S. and Russia, and once again human Sam Witwicky must help his robot friends defeat enemies like Shockwave.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon is again directed by everyone's favorite explosive director, Michael Bay, of the previous two Transformers movies as well as Bad Boys I and II, The Rock, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor and The Island. The screenplay was written by Ehren Kruger, who co-wrote the Revenge of the Fallen script but went solo this time, and also worked on The Ring, The Skeleton Key and Brothers Grimm screenplays. Paramount is bringing Transformers 3 to theaters everywhere in 3D on June 29th. Bring on the summer!

Alex, this official music video doesn't have much footage directly from the movie, but it is so beautiful and very much worth seeing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLYiIBCN9ec

Seeing that empty, shallow, no talent model hack with the other shallow hack, shia, is really dragging my hope for this movie down. She looks so out of place, emotionless....

I love that description of the hacks... amen to that.

I'm still hoping that they reveal that she is, in fact, a robot. That would make it okay. I actually *liked* Megan Fox... >_>

Has anyone else noticed that all the footage focuses on that big city battle with Optimus racing down a street and the building being ensnared by a snake machine? The only other footage shows Frances McDormand talking to Shia at NASA and the moon footage. Everything else is kept out, including Patrick Dempsey and his involvement with Shia and his "emotionless" costar, as someone else put it. I haven't followed the books or the mythology, but I'm curious whether the rest of the film will be a big surprise, or whether the trailers focus on a single battle because that's all Michael Bay chose to focus on action-wise? Michael Bay has never been known to hold back on the action, so I'm astutely curious as to the full scope of this film, and what else is gonna happen after the moon footage and the battle city footage.

This is how movie advertising  should be. only show the minimum!! Now hollywood basically shows you the whole movie in trailers before it comes out or at least all the good parts. even super 8 in its last week before release showed way too much of the actual movie. I applaud transformers marketing campaign! everyones going to be surprised at a movie for once!

Anyone else notice that Patrick Dempsey's character grabs Sam and then flies up a building?! He's a pretender Decepticon...lame!

Mikepetel on Jun 17, 2011

Watch the scene a split second beforehand and you'll notice that they're attached to a cable which is attached to a giant robot crawling up the building. Also, isn't that Josh Duhamel, not Dempsey?

I love that the girl character isn't fazed at all by any of the giant explosions that Michael Bay has put in the film.

The images totally did NOT fit with the music. Looks like more of the same typical Michael Bay crap. No thanks.

Pepe on Jun 18, 2011

What the hell? The song did NOT fit the movie. Why is Linkin Park releasing all this soft crap lately? At least the last two songs they did for Transformers were a more fitting.
