Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn

A couple weeks ago we learned that Hot Rod director and The Lonely Island member Akiva Schaffer would be at the helm of the comedy Neighborhood Watch. While the project once had Will Ferrell attached to star, Ben Stiller has instead come in to lead the cast. The film follows a group of suburban fathers who start a neighborhood watch group as a front for some male bonding time away from the family. But of course, the group ends up discovering a sinister plot to destroy the world from a dangerous extra-terrestrial force. Now 24 Frames reports that actor Vince Vaughn has also been added to the roster of alien-battling fathers.

Basically, this film sounds like Attack the Block but with fathers taking on aliens instead of hoodies, but with an A-list cast of comedy stars this still has the potential for a lot of fun. If those two names aren't enough to get you excited, Superbad writers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg wrote a draft of the script, and now Tropic Thunder scribe Justin Theroux is being brought on to write another draft. That's a lot of great comedy writers coming together for this project. Vaughn and Stiller most famously collaborated on the silly but still fairly funny comedy Dodgeball, but they've appeared together in films like Anchorman, Zoolander and Starsky and Hutch previously. With all the names involved so far, count me in, and I'm betting the cast is only going to get better.

it would be funny to see vaughn do his slick improv with an alien, id get a chuckle. i would love to see nolte as one of the dads, and basically reprise his role from tropic thunder. that would be funny.

Stiller hasnt been funny in a long time, i remember seeing him on jonathon ross a couple years ago and he just wore all black (as people do when they want to look smart) took himself extreemly seriously, and laughed at not one of ross' humerous outings.. favouring to talk of serious topics and generally just being a dur human.. Vaughn on the other hand, gets a lot of un necesery slack.. 'The Dilemma' in my eyes is a actual a pretty damn good movie, and Vaughn steals the show, the bad ratings it got must have came from people looking for slap stick in a movie that isnt slap stick.. Anyway, bring it on, lets see if stillers still funny..
