The sophomore effort from You Can Count on Me director Kenneth Lonergan has been shifting around in the editing room for a little over six years, and while that might not be a good sign for Margaret, finally getting a limited release later this month, you might still be interested knowing that the film stars Anna Paquin, Matt Damon and Mark Ruffalo. The trio and some other great actors (which you'll recognize in the trailer) star in this story about a 17-year-old New York City high-school student (Paquin) who feels certain that she inadvertently played a role in a tragic traffic accident that has claimed a woman’s life.

Kenneth Lonergan, director of You Can Count on Me and writer of Gangs of New York and Analyze This, is at the helm of this powerful drama which he also wrote himself. Despite its delay in the editing room, Martin Scorsese and his longtime editor Thelma Schoonmaker worked on the final edit for the film, so there might not be anything to worry about. In addition to Anna Paquin, Matt Damon and Mark Ruffalo, the film also features Matthew Broderick, Jean Reno, Olivia Thirlby and Kieran Culkin. The film will get a limited release in theaters on September 30th, so keep your ear to the ground to see if it's playing near you.

When Rogue touched the woman she sucked the life out of her, no wonder she feels bad....

1. Amazing how Paquin can still pass as a highschooler. She doesn't fucking age! 2. oscaroscaroscaroscaroscaroscaroscaroscaroscaroscaroscaroscaroscaroscaroscaroscar

Well, the film was shot in 2005, so that's why she still looks so young in this movie.

I was going to ask how the hell Matt Damon looked so thin and young. He gained some pounds for Contagion. Why did it take so long to get this movie out then?

This is produced by Anthony Minghella and Sydney Pollack. They're both dead. Paquin was probably a teenager when they shot it.

This should have been released years ago and has been needlessly delayed. It has a stellar cast and shouldn't go unnoticed by the public when it finally comes out.

Anna Paquin is an amazing actress. I'd watch this even if it looked like a gay vampire's wet dream

I wonder if this is indeed a Kenneth Lonergan approved cut.

This movie should do well now that there True Blood fans will see it because of her. And great to see Matthew Broderick again!

This is another film starring Anna Paquin that was delayed for years, the other one was "Trick 'r Treat". Could there be a third movie with Anna Paquin on some shelf out there? 🙂 It seems so odd, making a movie and have its release delayed for years. Do you Ethan, or anyone reading this(post is a few days old) know of any more "missing" movies lying on some shelf gathering dust?
