Priest Movie

Every time I think about the summer movie season, I forget this is coming out, although I do want to see it (but not in 3D). Screen Gems has debuted another trailer for Scott Stewart's Priest, the TokyoPop manga adaptation starring Paul Bettany as the vampire-hunting futuristic priest with a cross on his face. Ohh and did you know? Karl Urban is in this, too! And he looks pretty badass in it, like one of the key reasons why I want to see this. Anyway, we've already featured two official trailers for Priest dating back to Comic-Con last year, but we've got one more to watch from Facebook (via Genre Addict) before its release this May. Enjoy!

Watch the third new trailer for Scott Stewart's Priest adaptation via YouTube:

Priest is an adaptation of the TokyoPop manga created by Hyung Min-woo. It fuses the western genre with supernatural horror, gun fu, and dark fantasy themes and is notable for its unusual, angular art style. Here's the short logline: "In a world wrecked by centuries of violent warfare between man and vampire, a warrior priest turns against the church in order to save his kidnapped niece from a homicidal gang of vampires." So something about vampires and… you lost me. Although, it may be good because this Priest guy actually kills vampires. ScreenGems is making a big bet and has scheduled Priest for release on May 13th in full-on 3D.

Idk what it is.... but this honestly just looks so awesome. I'm not usually into movies like this at all, and I'm guessing it'll be destroyed by critics.... but it looks like so much fun, and I'm loving the visuals. Plus.... Karl Urban, of course. Didn't like the music for this trailer, though.

That's because it Marilyn Manson lol

Cruzer on Mar 18, 2011

Yes, and it was very unfitting. And Marilyn Manson.

Song's called "Personal Jesus" and it's a cover by Depeche Mode....correct that: it's an "awful" cover by Depeche Mode tsk tsk :p

vampires might be cool once more

Nick on Mar 18, 2011

Lets just hope the trailers aren't a cover for steaming poo like they were for Legions.

john s on Mar 18, 2011

But Legion's trailers looked like crap. If you saw the trailer for Legion and thought "hey that looks good!" .... then idk what's wrong with you lol.

Is it just me or does Karl Urban in this movie remind you of the Stranger from Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath?

Nexus_loki on Mar 18, 2011

Yeah I know what you mean.

WHAT THE CHUCK?! This is not an adaptation! they just bought a name, a character and they screwed this away! RAAAAAAAAAH I live the manwa, but this is really stupid to fuck a story so cool and awesome to make a movie forgetting that there were a comic book for model.

Newbornloki on Mar 18, 2011

Yeah Karl Urban looks cool with that hat!!

Trey on Mar 18, 2011

Now that this movies 2 movie trailers have been released, does that mean that the Pirates 4's second full trailer is come out about a week later ? .

Sean on Mar 18, 2011

Movie looks good. And I think the Manson cover is just fine (but you guys would probably prefer this trailer to be smothered in Linkin Park). And perhaps someone can explain to me, who is not up-to-date on the original material, how Keith Urban is a cool awesome vampire and those cg-monster vampires are also... vampires. Just seems strange.

Cracky on Mar 19, 2011

If there is ever a warhammer 40k movie, Karl Urban needs to be in it as a space marine.
