Casa de mi Padre Trailer

Wait what? Yep, you read that right, this is that (awesome) new film starring Will Ferrell where he actually only speaks Spanish the entire film. It's not as much of a gimmick as you think, because it's actually just a comedy about a guy who has lived and worked on his father's ranch in Mexico for his entire life but ends up getting into a war with Mexico's most feared drug lord. It's titled Casa de mi Padre, which translates to House of My Father, and the trailer was found on YouTube via GATW. Whoa does this looks crazy yet potentially brilliant. This is exactly what I wanted out of Nacho Libre. I'm in, this is hilarious!

Watch the first (unofficial) trailer for Matt Piedmont's Casa de mi Padre, embedded via YouTube:

Armando Alvarez has lived and worked on his father's ranch in Mexico his entire life. When he encounters financial difficulties, Armando's younger brother Raul shows up with his new fiancé. But when Armando falls for Sonia, all hell breaks loose as they find themselves in a war with Mexico's most feared drug lord.

Casa de mi Padre, or The House of My Father in Spanish, is directed by Matt Piedmont, a former comedy writer and director for Funny or Die, from a screenplay written by Andrew Steele. Not the kind of people you'd expect. The film was produced by Will Ferrell's company Gary Sanchez Productions. As far as we know, this doesn't have a distributor, so we'll have to wait to hear more about plans for release or a film fest.

I'm in... IF it's hysterical. The bigger draw for me than Will hablando en espanol is the re-teaming for the Mama Tambien boys.. Diego y Gael.

Not bad at all! The idea that first, Jack Black played a Mexican in, "Nacho Libre" and now Will Ferrell playing a Mexican in this flick is totally off the wall. I see that Hollywood is slowly realizing the potentially rich stories of Mexican culture that can translate well to the big screen!....Finally! I look forward to a Mexican flick renaissance!! ...I will be checkin' this flick out!! .....and YES, on another note: I"m still hoping for that, "Machete" sequel!

YES! I actually really like every thing he does. And yes I know there was a lot of haters out there but I really liked Land Of The Lost. Just thought I'd toss that in there. This looks pretty funny too. Can't wait!

they nailed the old school mexican movie formula..an old dude with a hot young girl, plenty of explosions and shootouts..and bad spanish. CANT WAIT TO SEE THIS, looks more like a stoner movie than pineapple express

Ok, I get it that he is some Mexican rich tough guy,FUNNY. I get it that it can be funny when Will Ferrel speaking spanish with a serious look on his face,FUNNY. I get it,I see how some people would like that. But come on the whole damn movie in spanish. Reading the entire movie and its a Will Ferrel comedy, just doesnt sound that appealing to me at all. I fore see a FLOP! Spanish! Come on now.... I love Will Ferrel movies & Im seriously disapointed in him for making this film like he did. And no I'm not a racist, just like watching film in english and not having to read at the bottom of the screen while the movie is playing and they change to the next sentence before I am completed with it. Thats why this film will be a flop. I wanted to watch "The Inglourios Bastards" and a 1/4 way thru I just gave up!
