The Woman in Black

The spectre of darkness. CBS Films has debuted a new teaser trailer for their ghost thriller The Woman in Black, which stars Daniel Radcliffe as a young lawyer who travels to a remote village, but discovers the ghost of a scorned woman set on vengeance. We've already seen one teaser for this, but this new one has a much creepier vibe to it, just bone-chilling, that voice-over rhyme, all the ghosts popping up, especially the one at the end. This is a classic ghost story more well known in Europe than the US, but I still think it looks quite good, there's something appealing about it, despite being so spooky. Check out the new teaser below!

A young lawyer (Daniel Radcliffe) travels to a remote village to organize a recently deceased client's papers, where he uncovers tragic secrets and encounters the ghost of a scorned woman set on vengeance.

The Woman In Black is directed by British filmmaker James Watkins, of the horror Eden Lake previously. The screenplay was written by Jane Goldman, of Stardust, Kick-Ass, The Debt, X-Men: First Class, adapted from Susan Hill's classic novel, published in 1983. CBS Films will be distributing The Woman In Black in the US, and has already set a February 3rd, 2012 release date early next year. Visit their official website.

Well, it has my interest. It's good to see Radcliffe in other roles.

I didn't expect him to pick a part like this, especially after seeing what he's done on broadway. Smart choice.

he'll just take out his wand and it will all be over within seconds 🙂

Hmm - doesn't hold the same tension as the play from watching that trailer - also looks like they've diverted from the original story a bit.

Anyone else think he looks a little like a young Patrick Dempsey? It's kinda freakin' me out.

Looks good to me. Love the creepy ghost stories that build tension rather than going crazy with the loud noise pop shots that make you jump. If you like them too, check out The Changeling with George C. Scott...

Aaahh, way to start it off with creepy dolls and effing clowns, hergh! Both of those are already terrifying enough in my book. This looks awesome, I'm in!

Daniel Radcliffe may actually be able to escape the role of Harry Potter. It's always a difficulty for an actor to get different roles after starring in several hugely popular movie or tv series. I guess it was a blessing for him that he started those roles as a child.
