Marvel's Thor Super Bowl TV Spot

Paramount launched the Super Bowl TV spot for Marvel's Thor online on Yahoo after its debut during the big game. Thor, directed by Kenneth Branagh, stars Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Tom Hiddleston as the mysterious Loki, as well as Natalie Portman, Kat Dennings, Idris Elba, Stellan Skarsgård, Ray Stevenson and Rene Russo. I know the reaction to the first official trailer was fairly mediocre, but I think it looks awesome, and this spot gives us just a quick glimpse at how much epic action there will be in this. I'm really looking forward to it. Check out the Super Bowl spot in high def.

The powerful but arrogant immortal warrior Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is cast out of the fantastic realm of Asgard and sent to live amongst humans on Earth, where he quickly becomes one of their finest defenders.

Marvel's Thor is directed by British actor/director Kenneth Branagh, who previously directed Shakespeare adaptations like Much Ado About Nothing and Hamlet, as well as the films Love's Labour's Lost, The Magic Flute and Sleuth. The script was written by Ashley Miller & Zack Stentz (Agent Cody Banks, "Fringe") and Don Payne (My Super Ex-Girlfriend, 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer) from a story by J. Michael Straczynski and Mark Protosevich. Paramount is bringing Marvel's Thor to theaters in 3D starting May 6th this summer

Fantastic? That's probably the last word I would have used. This looks like the next Daredevil or Ghost Rider to me.

Remind me again, why is this so epic? I just looks so cheesy. It doesn't have any charme nor does it try to take itself not too seriously. Having that said, I am hopefully going to be surprised and will regret saying this.

I wasn't a fan of "Thor" but this movie looks good enough to see... 🙂

I see no reason to be put off by this. Thor is meant to be epic. He's not some knock around billionaire coolguy like Tony Stark. He's goddamn THOR. And also, while this may be a departure from his usual material, Kenneth Branagh is an incredible director. He has a grasp for the dramatic far beyond most other directors working today. I'll admit, the myriad people involved with the development of the screenplay isn't ideal, but I have high hopes for this.

The music is so cool... I think this would turn out really bad, but I hope I'm wrong.

I like that it's Ultimate Thor, but this Asgardian outfits make me ill. Anyhow I hope it goes well as I still pray The Avengers will come out like the first Ultimate Avengers series did.

How come Kat Dennings isn't in any of these trailers? Is it because her giant breasts were exposed all over the internet? Or maybe they showed her for a split second and I missed it. Either way, they're big.

As for this movie, I don't know what to think. Personally, I didn't give a shit about the Iron Man character before those movies came out but after seeing them I love Iron Man. I feel the same way about Thor. We'll see.

This spot was better edited. I think his accent sounds better in at and the action seems more appealing. So Thor- you the Black Swan, eh? Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge.
