Watch: First Official Trailer for Dito Montiel's 'The Son of No One'

From the director of A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints and Fighting, Dito Montiel, comes another gritty New York City drama inspired by his youth in Queens called The Son of No One. The film is premiering at the Sundance Film Festival next week and MTV has the big trailer debut for it, as this should help build some buzz for the film around the premiere. Montiel pulled together an impressive cast for this: Channing Tatum, Al Pacino, Juliette Binoche, Ray Liotta, Katie Holmes. It looks like just an okay cop thriller but not much more. And I still think Montiel is the only one who can get a good performance out of Tatum.
Watch the first official trailer for Dito Montiel's The Son of No One from YouTube:
A police drama about a young cop who's assigned to a precinct in the Queens neighborhood where he grew up. He works hard to keep his life on track, but a dark secret threatens to destroy his life and his family.
The Son of No One is both written and directed by Queens-born filmmaker Dito Montiel, who turned from band member to director in 2006 with his own story in A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, and followed that up with the drama Fighting. This film is premiering at the Sundance Film Festival this month and was produced by Nu Image/Millennium Films but doesn't have any distributor yet. Thoughts on the trailer?

it's hard not to be excited about a movie with liotta and pacino...........and yet - this is NOT exciting me at all. hey - if anyone's interested - i watched "lebanon" last night...........i loved it - it's very intense.

the tank movie?

yea - i thought the glimpse of life inside a tank was interesting.......and that the men in it were not the "gung-ho" military experts many assume are in there. there were also many intense scenes. these scenes were like that due to the tank crew having a much different (and limited) view of what's going on than the infantry right outside the tank. i had hoped for some "tank vs. tank" moments but that didn't happen - however, i was left very impressed and satisfied. it does have english subtitles but that didn't hurt it. some of the verbal exchanges between the tank crew and the major outside the tank were riveting.

Fighting was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. So, I don't know how excited I can get about this movie..... Even with the amazing cast.

I hope this is the new trend in hollywood.... to get back to character driven films , rather than relying on all the CGI effects and wild non stop action , cartoon like films of today.
