First Full Trailer for Bryan Singer's 'Jack the Giant Killer' Smashes In

Warner Bros has finally debuted a trailer for Bryan Singer's latest fantasy action epic Jack the Giant Killer, a big budget Hollywood retelling of the classic Jack and the Beanstalk story. Nicholas Hoult, last seen as Hank McCoy in X-Men: First Class, stars as Jack, supported by actors Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Warwick Davis, Bill Nighy, Ian McShane, Eleanor Tomlinson and Eddie Marsan. Quite a cast! This looks like the summer because-Game-of-Thrones-is-doing-so-well fantasy holdover until Hobbit hits later in the year. Meaning it looks like a big, fun summer movie, but really not that good. Take a look!
Watch the first official trailer for Bryan Singer's Jack the Giant Killer, in high def via Apple:
A modern fairy tale in which the long-standing peace between men and giants is threatened, as a young farmer (Hoult) leads an expedition into the giants' kingdom in hopes of rescuing a kidnapped princess.
Jack the Giant Killer is directed by filmmaker Bryan Singer, of Public Access, The Usual Suspects, Apt Pupil, X-Men, X2, Superman Returns and Valkyrie previously. The screenplay is by Darren Lemke (Shrek Forever After), Christopher McQuarrie (Usual Suspects, Valkyrie) and Dan Studney (Reefer Madness: The Musical). Warner Bros is bringing Jack the Giant Killer to theaters starting June 15th, 2012. Reaction?

they have a great cast, but the movie doesn't seem that good.

I may see this, but I may not. Bryan Singer is a good director, but the story looks weak...

alex, can you even attempt to make it look like you are checking your facts before you spout out bullshit like this:"This looks like the summer because-Game-of-Thrones-is-doing-so-well fantasy holdover"? Really? a simple look at even your own articles would show you that this movie was being talked about and in production far before that show was released and successful.

"because-Game-of-Thrones-is-doing-so-well" implies that this is a cash-in.

It's not BS. I understand what Alex is saying, but the wording is really bad. I think he means: This looks like it will be THE fantasy movie holdover between the the highly successful Game of Thrones (airs April-Early June) and the Hobbit (December).

I thought this was going to be a remake of the 1962 film. But I'm glad it isn't. I've always like the Bean stock story growing. Can't wait to see a theatrical interpretation

The should put a viral disclaimer telling theaters to shut down the concession stands for the midnight showings and make sure viewers don't sneak in food... cause... you know...

I like how they made this trailer seem like an action thriller by putting in that Transformers 3esque jarring music...which is actually a rip off of the Inception score....but then it has cheesy dialogue like "these are magic beans. Â Don't get them wet!" I have the same feeling as Alex on this one. Â It'll probably be visually cool, but completely cheesy and forgettable by summer's end. Â I also get the Game of Throne's comment. Â Medieval and Zombies seem to be trends right now that Hollywood is cashing in on late. Â This movie may have been in production before hand, but they're marketing to the gut of that trend with this one.Â

FAIL! No shot of him hanging by his fingertips with his back to the bean stalk? (ala Ethan Hunt in MI2). No unnecessary Parkour tricking? This is the worst climbing movie since Seven Years in Tibet! F#*( this! I'm gonna go watch Vertical Limit on Laserdisc. Hells Yeah!

I think it looks like fun but the leading actor just looks like a putz—and not cuz its his character—like an actual, dim-witted-guffaw-ready putz posing as an actor.

you know how you may have a kink in your neck and you turn one day and it pops out and you feel relaxed. That's how I've felt about all the remakes surfacing and then seeing this fresh film use a timeless story, makes me relaxed.. Should be a fun popcorn movie to enjoy. Audiences may not be BLOWN AWAY, but it'll have their attention the whole time. I'm in!

Actually doesn't look half-bad. Though too, it might just be that song in the trailer fooling me into thinking so.

Afer reading the comments I was expecting a pretty lame trailer but that looked amazing!! People were carping about the lead but come on people, we're not expecting an academy award winning performance of Jack & The Beanstalk lol......are we?

Someone help me out here, the music used in the trailer stuck with me, does anyone know which song is used?

Yeah, seriously. I've been checking every youtube/blog channel for that question to be answered and people keep bitching about the dum shit. Just tell us what the name of the song is already.
