"You may know my name, but you do not know… the legend!" DreamWorks Animation has unveiled their full theatrical trailer (and a new poster) for spin-off series Puss in Boots, starring Antonio Banderas as the voice of the one-and-only fighting kitty, Puss in Boots. Other voices include Salma Hayek as Kitty Softpaws, Billy Bob Thornton and Zach Galifianakis. This looks awesome! I really mean that, I've seen some footage before, but this trailer is hilarious and entertaining, it just looks like a whole lot of fun. Maybe it's just great to see DreamWorks starting fresh with a new franchise again. I actually suggest watching this.
Watch the theatrical trailer for DreamWorks Animation's Puss in Boots from YouTube:
A story about the dramatic events leading up to the sword fighting cat's meeting with Shrek and company.
Puss in Boots is directed by animator Chris Miller, who started as a story artist and directed Shrek the Third (not fourth) a few years back. The screenplay was co-written by Brian Lynch (Hop), David H. Steinberg (The Babysitter), Tom Wheeler ("The Cape") and Jon Zack (Shrek the Third). This is a new spin-off of the Puss in Boots character from the Shrek franchise created at DreamWorks Animation. Paramount is bringing Puss in Boots to theaters in 3D everywhere starting on November 4th this fall. Anyone excited for this already?

Looks better than what we all expected, admit it guys. And the score at the end IS like Pirates of The Caribbean. Looks fun, should make up for Shrek The Third and Shrek Forever After. Also I 'wouldn't be surprised if they turn this into a trilogy and explaining the events that lead up to Shrek 2 in future sequels. Looking kinda forward to this.

I tired to enjoy Shrek 4, but I just couldn't it...certain parts were funny but the magic of Shrek wore off after Shrek 2...3 was okay...but 4...4 was just unbearable. Banderas is a great actor...definitely agree.

PIXAR is greater than dreamworks. Won't be taking the family to see this in 3D or 2D. Maybe they kids will see it if it's available for a $1 rental.

question...is this a prequel or after Shrek 4 type of thing.
Blueorangeny31 on Jun 21, 2011

It's a spin-off from the Shrek franchise. It happens before Shrek 2 (where Puss in Boots makes his first appearance) and tells the background story of Puss... so it's kind of a prequel, chronologically.

they should've made this movie right after shrek 2 and forgotten about Skerk 3 and 4 and ...... Definitely seeing it! One of the best characters they've got!

The story looks gr8 and the details, OMG LMAO, if youre a cat lover like me youll be rolling in the aisles. Chasing the light spot while purring, OMG i wet my pants laffing. Of course, some of the inside jokes may go sailing over the heads of dog people, so what else is new?
