Watch: Goofy Theatrical Trailer for Kevin James' Comedy 'Zookeeper'

"Never let a rival dictate the outcome of a situation!" Sony has debuted the full theatrical trailer on Yahoo for Zookeeper, the talking animals summer comedy starring Kevin James and Leslie Bibb. I'm not even really sure of the plot besides that animals in a zoo can talk to the zookeeper. We got a very quick tease of this late last year, but this trailer just confirms it looks just plain stupid. The monkey sounds like an old school Adam Sandler voice, which it may actually be, but it just doesn't work for me. In fact, I don't think half of the voices work on the animals, they sound so odd, but maybe that's me. Watch it at your own risk!

The animals at the Franklin Park Zoo decide to break their "code of silence" in order to help kindhearted, lovable zookeeper Griffin Keyes (Kevin James) gain the interest of a particular woman (Rosario Dawson).
Zookeeper is directed by NYU alum Frank Coraci, of The Wedding Singer, The Waterboy, Around the World in 80 Days and Click previously. The screenplay was cowritten by David Ronn & Jay Scherick (both of I Spy, Guess Who, Norbit) and Kevin James, Rock Reuben ("The King of Queens") & Nick Bakay (Paul Blart: Mall Cop). Sony Pictures is bringing Zookeeper to theaters in the thick of the summer on July 8th. Interested?

Can't do it. C'mon James you are so much better than this! Since when is a car dealership hot to women? Wouldn't a guy that works with animals be more interesting? Car salesmen are usually d'bags.

Which is why that is a woman one should not touch! The second I saw the the woman character reject Kevin James, she made my list and I hated the movie already.

If such a woman exists (and they do) they deserve a lonely life! Zoo Keeper trumps Car Salesman in my book...any day of the week.

Kevin James gets a lot of hate, but he's good with slapstick and goofy humor. I liked King of Queens, Chuck and Larry, and Paul Blart, and didn't see Grown Ups, but so far, he hasn't missed the mark for me. I don't know what it is, he just makes me chuckle. You're right about the animal voices Alex, they just don't do it for me, but I think Mr. James is enough to make this watchable. They should have gone to Steve Zahn for animal voices.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and predict that in the course of learning how to work his animal mojo from the furry friends, Kevin James will come to realize that he already has a great thing with Rosario Dawson, the woman who was there to help hold him together when Leslie Bibb dropped him the first time. But in the course of finding out that he actually loves Rosario, he will have already either offended or betrayed her trust. And it will all be up to those furry friends who suddenly realize they screwed up his life with their help, to get her to forgive him and then they'll live happily ever after. But I have nieces and a nephew, and talking monkeys means I'll be stuck there paying my cash for this one.
