"For me, the cinema is not a slice of life, but a piece of cake." Here's another video that cinephiles should get a kick out of. Originally posted by SlashFilm, it's a short film called Hitch created by Felix Meyer, Pascal Monaco and Torsten Strer that's about "The Ultimate Hitch Cookbook." Essentially, it's a quick, fun recipe guide for Alfred Hitchcock and his films. The narrator talks about the cookbook for "the famous director and part time gourmet" and what makes his work extraordinary, combining ingredients for great films with ingredients for great food. It's excellently animated and is just a fun video to watch this evening.
"Hitch is our graduation project at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hannover," they say on Vimeo, where you can view more from them. "It's about 'The Ultimate Hitch Cookbook', an animated book containing the recipes for Alfred Hitchcock's classics. It's made for Hitchcock enthusiasts and every other couch potato out there." Peter Bennett provides the voice. This was just an incredibly well-made short film that I thought Hitchcock fans would like. Now I'm hungry for my own "Perfect Kendall-Light Dinner" or "Hearty Breakfast for Lovebirds" and should toss in some Hitchcock to watch with it, too. Like the short?
