No Surrender!! Our friends at HeyUGuys have debuted the first official UK trailer for Jonathan English's Ironclad. We've been waiting to see the trailer for this hardcore indie medieval action flick ever since that badass photo of James Purefoy was released over a year ago. Purefoy stars as one of the Knights Templar who must defend the Rochester Castle against the tyrannical King John, played amazingly in this by Paul Giamatti. The trailer looks fairly badass, especially if you love medieval action flicks. I'm looking forward to catching it, but don't expect anything besides typical medieval fighting. Check out the new trailer below!
Watch the first UK trailer for Jonathan English's Ironclad:
In addition to Purefoy, Ironclad also stars Paul Giamatti, Brian Cox, Robert Carlyle, William Moseley, Jason Flemyng, Bob Hoskins, Pete Postlethwaite and Kate Mara. Apparently in the film Giamatti is "in pure Shoot 'Em Up snarling-villain mode, facing off against the noble and true James Purefoy." And although this has a low budget, Empire promises that it's "a gritty and compelling British action flick." This was directed by Jonathan English, of Minotaur and Nailing Vienna, from a script by English and Erick Kastel. Ironclad hits theaters in the UK this March, but as far as we know still doesn't have a US distributor or release date yet.

From the picture I thought it was robin hood with a sword. Very similar with that picture when Russel Crowe was holding the bow. Might be good...

YES!!!! After all these mamby pamby deep in thought self righteous Oscar types like The King's Speech, Black Swan, The Social Network and so on and so one and so on, it's so damn refreshing to see something come out just for the pure visual fun of it on a Friday night!

I really like Brian Cox, but on this one, I have to say LAME. This just looks like an all out action movie, and though some of those shots had some pretty cool stuff in them, I think the movie as a whole is going to be a stinker. I think I'll save my medieval movie money for when they get an Assassin's Creed movie out.

Is it me or does Purefoy look like a cross between Hugh Jackman and Thomas Jane? And I'll take Kata Mara in anything. I'd like to see her in more flicks. And medival fighting movies are like alien invasion ones: They don't get old for me.

Flemying, Cox and about a hundred cliches... I was looking forward to this film when I first read about it. Now I'm hardly interested at all.
