Cowboys & Aliens Super Bowl Spot

"What the hell… They're coming back!" Oh hell yes! Universal has decided to sneak debut their Super Bowl TV spot for Jon Favreau's Cowboys & Aliens online via a mention from @Jon_Favreau. We saw the first teaser trailer for Cowboys & Aliens - starring Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford and Olivia Wilde - late last year, but this new TV spot is a HUGE step up. Lots more action, lots more aliens, this really looks fantastic, I'm very excited for it! This western-sci-fi mash-up also stars Sam Rockwell, Adam Beach, Paul Dano, Noah Ringer & Clancy Brown. I would watch this for Olivia Wilde alone, but the alien fights look fun, too. Enjoy!

Watch the official Super Bowl TV spot for Jon Favreau's Cowboys & Aliens:

Craig plays Jake Lonergan, a stranger with no memory of his past who stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. But the town is soon invaded by aliens and Jake must pull together a posse comprised of former opponents to combat these extraterrestrials. In addition to Daniel Craig, Cowboys & Aliens also stars Olivia Wilde, Sam Rockwell, Noah Ringer, Clancy Brown and the legendary Harrison Ford as Col. Dolarhyde. Jon Favreau is directing this adaptation from a screenplay co-written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci & Damon Lindelof. Universal is bringing Cowboys & Aliens in only 2D to theaters on July 29th, 2011 this summer.

This movie will prove to have too much awesome manliness. This will be confirmed when several peoples heads explode on opening weekend. Mark my words.

That was actually pretty cool... I really hope they make a Halo movie sooner than later.

The moment everyone realizes the film cannot follow MC then it would happen, but people are stubborn.

i'd rather see a metal gear solid movie (with solid snake) or an uncharted movie (with nathan) than a halo movie.

Yes! A MGS movie could be so amazing if done right. My husband is a huuuge fanboy of that game, and he would probably break down crying like a 12-year old girl at a Jonas Brothers concert the second Snake has his first scene in the movie. I really wanna see -that-! xD

glad to see i'm not alone - doesn't it have to be kurt russell or christian bale to play snake? or who would you like?

Oh, Kurt Russel would obviously be my first choice, but...he's not getting any younger. (Maybe as old Snake?) Bale happens to be my husband's man crush and when we watched Reign of Fire back then he turned to me and said "Man, just imagine him with a bandana. He -is- Solid Snake!" So yeah, we're totally with you on this one.

Have none of you seen "Escape from New York" - Kurt Russell is a bad ass with an eye-patch named "Snake Plisskin." Fanboys will remember that in MGS 2 Solid Snake went by the persona of Iroquois Pliskin. Now that movie came out in '81 so don't start shouting "copied" but DAMN if that isn't some crazy coincidence. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082340/ - definitely watch if you haven't. I'm all for a MGS movie but I doubt we will see it happen.

Reminds of the days when Lucas and Spielberg created cool movies like that.

First teaser was better. This one had too much going on. But I guess that is typical with super bowl spots. Gotta get their money's worth.
